It is decided to recall some imported Kia pure electric EV6 vehicles from June 8 to November 1, 2023 from July 15, 2024.

The vehicles within the scope of this recall may cause damage to their internal components due to problems with the integrated charge control module (ICCU) software, and the vehicle is unable to charge the 12V battery, which leads to the gradual limitation of the vehicle speed after the warning light is on, and the loss of power after a period of time, resulting in safety risks.

Jiangsu Yueda Kia Co., Ltd. will check and update ICCU software for vehicles within the recall area free of charge, and replace new ICCU and fuses free of charge if vehicles have relevant fault codes to eliminate safety risks.

It is understood that the Kia EV6 is the first electric car built by Kia based on the E-GMP platform. It was officially listed at the 2023 Chengdu Auto Show and sold in the Chinese market as an import. The official guiding price is 28.28-419800 yuan. In terms of power, Kia EV6 offers two types of long-range 77.4kWh and 58kWh, with the maximum power of 170hp and torque of 350Nm in the standard rear-drive version and 235hp and 605Nm of torque in the quasi-endurance four-wheel drive version. China's new energy market has completely subverted the situation in which joint venture brands played a leading role in the fuel car era in the past, and independent brands, dominated by BYD and the new car-building forces, have become the biggest stars in China's automobile market. Although not willing to lag behind the joint venture brand has also made a counterattack, but the effect is mediocre, even if it is a bloody price reduction, it is still difficult to capture the hearts of Chinese consumers.
