Data show that Chen Wei was born in 1972, now 52 years old, graduated from a bachelor's degree, but did not disclose the specific colleges and universities. Once served as deputy factory director, factory director and party committee secretary of Changan Automobile Factory; Vice President of personnel and Secretary of discipline Inspection Commission of Changan Ford Co., Ltd.; Minister of Changan Automobile Manufacturing Logistics Department, Party Branch Secretary and OTD Project Director of the company; General Manager and Party Committee Secretary of Beijing Changan Automobile Company; Party Committee Secretary of Chongqing Lingyao Automobile Co., Ltd. In September 2018, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Changan Automobile") issued an announcement. Nominated by Zhu Huarong, president of Changan Automobile Company, the board of directors proposed to appoint Ye Pei, Chen Wei, Li Mingcai and Zhao Fei as vice presidents of the company. According to the Changan Automobile Annual report, Chen Wei is currently the executive vice president of Changan Automobile, the director of Changan Ford, and the director of China Changan.

In October 2023, China Changan announced a major personnel appointment: comrade Zhao Fei was appointed chairman and secretary of the party committee of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and no longer served as president and deputy secretary of the party committee of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. It is understood that Zhao Fei became president and deputy secretary of the party committee of China Changan Automobile in December 2022. Before that, he served as vice president and executive vice president of Changan Automobile, as well as party committee secretary and executive vice president of Changan Ford.

Data show that China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was established in December 2005, formerly known as China Southern Industrial Automobile Co., Ltd., is a super-large automobile enterprise belonging to China Arms equipment Group Co., Ltd. In November 2009, Ordnance equipment Group and China Aviation Industry Corporation strategically reorganized their automobile industry and jointly held a stake in Changan, China. In 2018, Ordnance equipment Group carried out the integration and optimization of the automobile industry and completely controlled 100% of China's Changan. In 2019, it officially changed its name to China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.

Since 2018, according to the strategic adjustment of Ordnance equipment Group, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. has focused on the development of auto parts, sales and service, logistics, holding, shareholding and escrow 24 enterprises (including 4 listed companies). There are 103 full-level and sub-enterprises, forming four main business sectors: auto parts, auto sales and service, automotive logistics and automotive ecosystem, covering the whole automotive industry chain.

In terms of vehicle enterprises, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., controlled by China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., is a well-known domestic vehicle manufacturing enterprise, which has formed three major electric brands: Changan Qiyuan, Deep Blue Automobile and Avita. In the first half of 2024, Changan Automobile sold a total of 1.3341 million vehicles, an increase of 9.74 percent over the same period last year. Of these, the cumulative sales of independent passenger cars were 821900, up 7.01% from the same period last year, and the cumulative sales of new energy under independent brands were 299100, up 69.87% from the same period last year.

Changan Automobile said that the parent company is China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and the ultimate control is China Arms equipment Group Co., Ltd. According to the Changan Automobile Annual report, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. holds a 17.98% stake in Changan Automobile, making it the largest controlling shareholder, while China Arms equipment Group Co., Ltd. holds 14.23%, the second largest controlling shareholder.
