On August 6th, ideal released the latest weekly sales list for the 31st week of 2024 (July 29 to August 4) as scheduled. First, let's take a look at the TOP10 sales list of new energy brands in the Chinese market. The top five car companies are BYD, Tesla, Wuling, ideal Automobile and Wanjie.

In the new week, BYD continues to top the list with weekly sales of 80200 vehicles, making it the only brand on the list that has sold more than 80, 000 vehicles, far surpassing other brands. Xilai ranks third on the list, with weekly sales of 5800 vehicles. Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of Weilai, pointed out that the Weekly list data are not rigorous, Weilai has never authorized any organization to bring Wei to the Weekly list, and the data has not been recognized by Weilai, calling on relevant departments to manage it.

Ma Lin, director of public relations at Xilai Automobile, also posted on Weibo on July 30 that the weekly list was a low-level inner volume and named ideal car CEO Li Xiang, hoping that he would not release the weekly list again. Ma Lin believes that products of different prices and categories with fuel tanks are all on the same list, which cannot reflect the objective situation of the market, and stressed that the list should be reasonable and comparable with each other. Subsequently, Yang Xueliang, senior vice president of Zhejiang Geely holding Group, also posted a message in response to Xilai Automobile, saying: "I also oppose the Weekly list." In addition, he Xiaopeng, CEO of Xiaopeng, also said at the AI smart driving technology conference that Chinese technology companies should focus more on technological innovation rather than short-term sales competition.

However, after a number of car companies publicly opposed and refused to join the weekly sales list released by ideal car, ideal did not stop publishing the weekly sales list. To some extent, sales volume is one of the important indicators to measure the performance of car companies in the car market, the higher the sales volume, the higher the recognition of consumers, but paying too much attention to the sales ranking may bring unnecessary competitive pressure to car companies.
