AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/11 Report--
On August 9, Toyota officially announced that it had submitted a report on countermeasures to prevent recurrence in response to the rectification order issued by Japan's Ministry of Land, Transport and Transport.
In the report, Toyota elaborated on the rectification report and adopted multiple monitoring methods to ensure compliance. Toyota said that under the proposal of the Ministry of Land and Transportation, Toyota recognized that management was not involved in the certification business and that there were deficiencies at many levels, including the management system of data, the preparation of procedures for certification business, and other certification foundations that needed to be improved, but Toyota promised to improve the certification process in the future and raise management awareness of understanding and compliance with certification rules.
In the latest report on countermeasures to prevent recurrence, Toyota will adopt a series of new rules and regulations to ensure transparency and accountability in the certification process. Toyota decided that the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the Global Chief quality Officer (CQO), the former responsible for making decisions in the vehicle development process, and the global Chief quality Officer (CQO), which will check the final results of vehicle certification, jointly take charge of the implementation of the corrective measures. At the same time, in order to improve Toyota's internal understanding and communication, Toyota also plans to open communication channels at all levels to ensure that every link can fully understand and implement the relevant regulations.
In addition, in order to strengthen the internal audit, Toyota brought in a legal supervisor to conduct a second check, audit the entire process and report to the chief risk officer (CRO). In addition, Toyota will increase the number of personnel of certification bodies, regularly inspect development and certification sites, and report the work of legal supervisors to G-CQC and CRO.
On July 31st, Toyota announced that it had received the first rectification order issued by the Japanese government because a previous on-the-spot investigation found that seven models of the company had not yet been properly certified for mass production, including the Corolla Fielder, Carola Axio and Yaris Cross, and four discontinued models. Among them, there is fraud in the certification data of seven models, including one of the Lexus brand SUV models, including RX, involving areas such as crash testing and other test method errors. At that time, Toyota said it had accepted the rectification order and would proceed with the necessary reforms to ensure compliance with its certification operations.
Toyota said in a statement that Toyota's senior leaders were not involved enough in the vehicle certification process and that better data management and other structures would be implemented in the future to ensure proper testing. Meanwhile, Toyota CEO Eiji Sato apologized and said all vehicles were safe to drive. On the same day, Toyota China issued a statement confirming the models sold in the Chinese market, stressing that they had nothing to do with the incident. Toyota China said it had confirmed that the models sold by FAW Toyota, Guangzhou Automobile Toyota and Lexus in the Chinese market carried out certification tests in strict accordance with Chinese laws and regulations, met national quality standards, and there were no safety and quality problems.
Toyota said that the whole company will unite and will re-examine and improve the existing certification mechanism through the joint efforts of management and front-line employees to ensure that corrective actions can be taken quickly in the event of anomalies in the course of operation. to prevent the above incidents from happening again.
