In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4715/1842/1473mm and the wheelbase is 2680mm. As a comparison, the MG5 sold in cash is 4675/1842/1473mm in length, width and height, and 2680mm in wheelbase. By contrast, the length of the new car has increased by 40mm; its competitor Geely Dihao's length, width and height is 4638/1820/1460mm, and the wheelbase is 2650mm, respectively. The new car has increased in all aspects of size.

In the rear part, referring to the information of the new car declaration map, the new car also adopts a new design style, the rear part adopts a split beam taillight with a dynamic duck tail design, and the lower rear surround also adopts a new design, but the exhaust is still a bilateral double-out layout. In terms of interior decoration, the official has not yet disclosed. In terms of power, the application information shows that the new car will continue to use the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine carried by the current model, with a maximum power of 95 kilowatts, and is expected to continue to match the five-gear manual transmission and the CVT continuously variable transmission.

MG5 is a coupe owned by Mingjue, and the current generation of models on sale has been on sale for more than three years since November 2012. the current price range is 67900-99900 yuan, which mainly competes with Geely Dihao and other models in the car market. According to the official website, the current models sold by the Mingjue MG brand include MG5, MG6, MG pilot, MGZS, MG7 and other models.

Retail data show that Mingjue sold 43012 vehicles in the first seven months of this year, of which MG5 sold 22103 vehicles, the highest-selling model under Mingjue, accounting for 51.39 per cent of total sales. However, compared with the same class of models, the performance of the Mingjue MG5 in the car market is not eye-catching. In July, for example, Mingjue MG5 sold 2680 vehicles, while the same-class models Changan Yiyou and Geely Dihao sold 9832 and 8068 respectively. By comparison, Mingjue MG5 lags far behind the latter two.

The official picture is the medium-term modified model of MG5, from the official map information, the new car has changed obviously in appearance, especially the front part, the overall vision is younger and fashionable, more in line with the current consumer car selection standards, as for the medium-term modified model on the market, Mingjue MG5 sales can be boosted, pricing may play a decisive role.
