It is understood that the cause of the Great Wall bid being "blocked" by Southern Power Grid occurred on August 14, when the Southern Power Grid supply chain Unified Service platform issued a "Southern Power Grid supplier handling announcement." According to the announcement, China Southern Power Grid has dealt with a total of 37 suppliers with recent product quality problems, performance problems, integrity problems and safety problems. among them, Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd. with serial number 23, is listed as a "do not accept tender" supplier because of "major breach of trust by the supplier and bad impact". The processing period is 24 months, and the treatment measures will be processed from June 21, 2024.

According to the Great Wall Automobile notice, the model involved is a tank 500. The second SUV model of the tank brand, launched in March 2022 and currently sells for 33.5-395000 yuan. It is based on a tank platform, uses a non-load-bearing body, and is powered by a 3.0T V6 engine and 9AT gearbox independently developed by Great Wall. It has a maximum power 260kw and a maximum torque of 500N ·m / 1500-4500rpm. It is the first model under Great Wall to adopt 3.0T+9AT.

Judging from the announcement of Southern Power Grid "blocking" Great Wall Motor, Great Wall Motor will not be able to cooperate with Southern Power Grid in bidding in the next two years, which may be a big blow to Great Wall Motor.
