On August 22nd, Baojun's brand-new pure electric SUV model, Baojun Yunhai, officially opened its pre-sale. The new car has launched a total of four models with a pre-price range of 12.18-145800 yuan. It is understood that the new car is based on Tianyu architecture and is equipped with a high-end intelligent driving system, providing pure electricity and plug-in hybrid version options. The new car is scheduled to go on sale in September.

In terms of appearance, the new car adopts a new design style, the front face is the popular closed grille design, the two sides are equipped with tapered LED headlamp group design, the interior of the lamp group is three-point design, the visual impact is very strong. The lower enclosure uses a small trapezoidal intake grille to enhance the visual hierarchy of the vehicle.

On the side of the body, the new car is round in shape, with a waistline running from the front to the rear, a slightly raised front and rear fender, with petal-style 18-inch rims, and black decorative lines to add a sense of movement. In addition, the new car also provides a floating roof, conventional mechanical door handles and double color rims and other designs, looks quite dynamic. In terms of body color, the new car provides four colors: Super Shadow Grey, Jade Huibai, Tengyun Blue and Daily Orange. In the rear part, the new car is also dominated by simple style, with through-through LED lamp group design and Baojun car logo LOGO embedded in the middle to improve vehicle recognition. The lower enclosure uses a large area of black to surround the design and is decorated with a silver strip to make the tail look more delicate and stylish.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the pure electric version of the new car are 4541/1880/1608mm, the wheelbase is 2750mm, the positioning compact plug-in hybrid version of SUV; is 4590/1880/1608mm, and the wheelbase is 2750mm, that is to say, the plug-in hybrid version has only a slight increase in body length, and the rest of the dimensions are consistent with the pure electric version. As a reference, BYD PLUS length, width and height are 4455/1875/1615mm, wheelbase 2720mm.

Interior part, the new car basically continues the family design style, the car provides morning white and dusk black two kinds of color. In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with 8.8-inch full LCD dashboard, 15.6-inch intelligent touch screen and double-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and the standard 8-speaker sound system includes an independent power amplifier without losing the overall sense of science and technology. In addition, the new car is equipped with Lingmei 2.0 Max to achieve the first mass production and landing of the end-to-end model in 200000.

In terms of power, the new car provides dual power options of pure electric version and plug-in version. Among them, the pure electric version is driven by a single motor, with a maximum motor power of 150kW, and the pure electric mileage of CLTC is 500km and 600km respectively; the plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of 1.5L engine (LBG) with a maximum power of 78kW.

Considering the positioning and pre-sale price of the new car, the pure electric version of the follow-up new car will compete with BYD yuan plus and Eian AION Y, while the plug-in hybrid version will compete with Changan Qiyuan Q05 and Qichen big V DD-i super hybrid models.

So far, Baojun car models on sale include KiWi EV (price range of 87800-113800 yuan), Yunduo (price range of 115800-136800 yuan), Yueya (price range of 80800-90800 yuan) and Plus (price range of 93,800-103,800 yuan), covering a range of 80, 000-140, 000 yuan. With the listing of Baojun Cloud Sea, the product line of Baojun brand will be richer and more perfect. As for whether Baojun Cloud Sea can support the important task of brand sales, pricing may become the key.

Retail data show that Baojun has accumulated sales of 17975 vehicles, with the highest selling model being Baojun Yunduo with 7055, followed by Baojun Yue with 5974, and Baojun's Plus and Baojun KiWi EV with less than 3, 000 vehicles, with 2731 and 2087 respectively.

Judging from the latest sales performance, Baojun Automobile does not have a high sense of presence in the auto market, and Baojun Automobile still needs to launch products that can better meet the needs of consumers. According to the plan, Baojun will also launch Baojun Yunguang, which will be the first medium and large sedan under Baojun, which appeared on the latest MIIT declaration catalogue on August 9. According to the declaration information, the length, width and height of the car are 5005 dial 1900ax 1505 (1490) mm, wheelbase 2900mm, positioning medium and large sedan, and the power provides pure electric and plug-in hybrid drive version options.

As to whether the new car will be named "Baojun Yunguang", Zhou Yan, general manager of SAIC GM Wuling Brand and Communication, said in a post on Weibo on Aug. 21 that as Baojun's flagship car, Yunguang should not be used and will be renamed in the future.
