AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/04 Report--

On September 4th, the new generation of Nissan Tuller (seventh generation, internal code Y63, Patrol in the Middle East and ARMADA in North America) was officially launched. the appearance and interior of the new car are newly designed, and the power is also fully upgraded. it is planned to be first listed in the Middle East and North American markets at the end of 2024.

As the seventh generation model, the new generation of Tole is equipped with the latest family design style, with a large grille design on the front face and a double-banner chrome trim on the upper part, which is skillfully combined with split headlamps. The headlamp group on both sides evolved into a "double C" structure, which echoes the design with the silver decoration.

On the side of the body, the overall profile of the new car is very similar to that of the Infiniti QX80 on the same platform, and the two will also share a lot of body parts. According to foreign media, the body size of the new Tuller will exceed that of the previous generation. As a reference, the sixth generation of Tuller Middle East Edition is 5305/2030/1925mm in length, width and height, and 3075mm in wheelbase. In the rear part, the new Toure rear lamp design is adopted for the first time, the light groups on both sides are adjusted to longitudinal layout, and the internal "double C" light source is consistent with the headlight group style. The black trim panel in the center has the name of "PATROL", which is more layered with the rear door of the cutting surface and the black spoiler on the top of the roof.

In addition, the Pro-4X off-road version is launched for the first time in the North American market, which is mainly upgraded to the front and rear bumpers, giving it an approach angle of 33.9degree, a through angle of 25.3degree and a departure angle of 24.3o. In addition, the model also has 20-inch rims, all-terrain tires, adaptive air suspension, metal anti-skid plates and rear differential locks and other upgrades.

In terms of interior, the new car comes standard with a dual 12.3in screen design, while the medium-and high-end model will be upgraded to a combination of a dual 14.3in screen and a 7-inch HUD look-up display. As an off-road vehicle, the new Tuller is equipped with a brand-new style of three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and shift dial, and a large number of physical buttons are retained under the central control screen to facilitate the operation of entertainment system, air-conditioning system, driving mode and so on. In addition, it is also equipped with a push-button shift mechanism. In terms of safety configuration, the new car will be equipped with functions such as automatic far and near lights, blind area monitoring and lane departure warning, while high-end models will be equipped with Pro Pilot 2.1system, which can realize high-speed automatic navigation and auxiliary driving.

Depending on the model, the seat layout will be divided into 2-2-3 and 2-3-3 seats. the second row of seats will also provide two separate entertainment screens, and the first two rows of seats will be equipped with seat heating and ventilation. It is worth mentioning that the rear seat can be flush with the floor of the trunk, equipped with color atmosphere lights, 12.3in rear entertainment screen, 12-speaker Klipsch brand sound system and so on.

In terms of power, the new car will use a 3.5T V6 engine to replace the 5.6L V8 engine, which is also installed on the QX80, with a maximum power of 456hp and a peak torque of 699Nm. The transmission system matches a nine-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.

Toura, one of Nissan's long-standing models, was born in 1951 (code name 4W60). It was selected as a police vehicle by the Japanese government because of its outstanding passability. The final product was exported to Europe and North America as Patrol, literally translated as patrol. In 1960, Nissan launched the second generation Tuller (code 60) and began to export to Australia, the United States, India and other markets. At the same time, it launched a number of derivative models to meet different needs, and gradually became familiar with consumers around the world. After 21 years of sales of the second-generation models, Nissan began to launch the third-generation Tole (code 160), which is more modern in overall design and chassis, close to the current multi-purpose SUV style, and became famous as the champion of the Dakar Rally, and its life cycle did not officially stop production until 2001, selling more than 300,000 vehicles worldwide.

In 1987, the fourth generation of Tuller (code Y60) was born, which not only maintained the off-road performance but also upgraded the comfort, and became the first choice for many cross-country enthusiasts. It is also from this generation of models that Chinese consumers have really come into contact with the Nissan Tuller model. Although it is not as famous as the Toyota Landku Luze (LC80) of the period, it has gradually become one of the iconic models of the domestic hard cross-country SUV. In 1997, the fifth generation of Tuller (code name Y61) was launched, but it was sold in some markets around the world (such as Australia) until 2016. The sixth generation Tuller (codenamed Y62) made its global debut in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on February 13, 2010, which shows the importance of the Middle East market to Nissan Tuller, and it officially entered the Chinese market in July 2011.

I believe that for cross-country players, the arrival of the new Tuller will certainly make them excited, because they finally have a new choice in addition to Rand Cool Luze. As a large off-road vehicle, Nissan Tuller competes with Toyota Lande Cool Luze, but now the delivery of Lande Cool Luze is slow due to capacity constraints, and it is difficult to see the latest generation of Landcool Luze (LC300) in China.

The American version of Armada was introduced to the Chinese market through official channels in 2022 and currently sells for between 79.80 and 838000 yuan. In terms of power, the American version of Tuller is equipped with a 5.6L V8 engine with a maximum power of 294 kilowatts and a peak torque of 560 Nm. If nothing happens, it is highly likely that the new generation of Tuller will continue to be imported into the domestic market. Combined with the cash price, if the future new Nissan Tuller is introduced into China, the same class models are mainly Chevrolet Tahoe Taihao (selling 648000-728000 yuan) and other luxury brand models.
