As a medium-sized luxury SUV, Audi Q5's main competitors are the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLCs. Retail figures show that Mercedes-Benz GLC, which sold the most from January to July in 2024, sold 84312 vehicles, Audi Q5L 76997 and BMW X3 64652. Of the three models, the BMW X3 is the only one that does not lengthen the wheelbase, which is the main reason why its sales are lower than those of its statistical rivals. It is worth mentioning that the new generation of BMW X3 will be available soon, its wheelbase will be extended for the first time, 110mm will be added to the standard wheelbase version to reach 2975mm, and it will be upgraded in terms of space performance and cockpit design, as well as adjustments to the appearance and interior, which may help it further improve its sales performance.

Audi Q5L is one of Audi's three best-selling models in China, with cumulative sales of 76997 vehicles from January to July in 2024, ranking second among Audi brands. Audi A6L is the first model sold with 98794 vehicles, and Audi A4L ranks third with 63790 vehicles. It is worth mentioning that the Audi A4L will be renamed Audi A5L and will be introduced to China as a new model. Compared with the previous generation, the Audi A4L will be the first model with Huawei's smart driving solution. It is expected to debut at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show and launch in mid-2025.
