As FAW Toyota's new all-electric sedan SUV model, the new car can be seen as Toyota's cross-border production version, which was unveiled during the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. According to previous reports, the new car has entered the stage of trial production and will be officially put into production by the end of this year.

In terms of appearance, from the declaration map, the front grille of the new car is similar to a large mouth, with a closed grille on both sides with the iconic "C-shaped" headlamp group, which is highly recognizable as a whole. The lower part is equipped with a penetrating front enclosure to enhance the sense of movement. On the side of the body, the lines of the new car are very smooth, using suspended roof and slip-back styling design style, with hidden door knob and low wind resistance wheel ring, further highlighting the positioning of the new car pure electric SUV. In the rear part, the shape of the new car taillight is narrow and long, which adopts the semi-circular taillight design, which effectively lengthens the visual width of the vehicle, and is equipped with upraised duckling tail, segmented rear spoiler and black encirclement at the bottom, which further enhances the movement flavor of the vehicle.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4780/1866/1510mm, the wheelbase is 2880mm, and the pure electric sedan SUV is located. It is worth mentioning that the new car declaration information shows that the high-end version of the new car will be equipped with high-level intelligent driving system, and it is expected that the intelligent level of the vehicle may be further improved.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a TZ200XS003 single motor from Fudi Power, with a maximum power of 200kW, which matches the Fudi lithium iron phosphate battery pack.

At present, FAW Toyota has two pure trams, bZ3 and bZ4X. Among them, FAW Toyota bZ4X listed on October 25, 2022, the current price is 19.98-284800 yuan, the car positioning medium-sized pure electric SUV, based on e-TNGA architecture to build, providing front-drive and four-wheel drive two power forms, power, bZ4X pioneer version of the maximum power of motor 150kW (204Ps), four-wheel drive version before and after the maximum power of 80kW (109Ps).

The bZ3 is the second bZ series model of FAW Toyota and the first model of cooperation between Toyota and BYD. The new car is located as an all-electric medium-sized sedan, which will be launched on March 6, 2023, with a price range of 16.98-199800 yuan. It is understood that the bZ3 is based on the e-TNGA platform, in which Toyota provides vehicle design and BYD provides three-power technology. In terms of power, the bZ3 battery and motor are provided by Fudi of BYD, in which the battery uses lithium iron phosphate battery, which is 49.92kWh and 65.28kWh, respectively, and the rear single motor layout is used to provide high and low power versions for consumers to choose from. The corresponding motor power is 135kW and 180kW respectively. The CLTC mileage is 517km and 616km.

As the only two models in the layout of FAW Toyota, the existence of the two cars in the car market is not high. Retail data show that bZ3 sold 34600 vehicles in the first eight months of this year, with monthly sales averaging less than 4500. BZ4X sold 13 vehicles in the first eight months of this year, but no sales have been shown since February, April and June.

In the era of fuel vehicles, including Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen are all leaders in the car market. Take Toyota as an example, Toyota can be said to be a "leader" in the fuel field, but in the era of electrification, its biggest deficiency is the slow transformation of electrification. Even though Toyota has announced that it will make a full transition to electrification, it is still in a weak position in the electric car market and has no products that can be used in pure electric products. Admittedly, with the gradual decline of the market share of fuel vehicles, Toyota, which relies on fuel vehicles to seize market share, has shown an obvious decline. If it wants to stir up waves in the car market, it is bound to launch more competitive pure electric products. Toyota still has a long way to go if it wants to achieve electric transformation.
