At the Chengdu auto show, BYD unveiled the brand's first medium-and large-scale MPV-- summer. The overall appearance of BYD Xia still follows the traditional MPV style, and it can be seen from its name that it is a member of BYD Dynasty Network, so it also has some dynastic features in its design. The front part of the car uses a huge grille, which is also the mainstream design of MPV at present. The middle net is partly connected to the headlights, and the chrome-plated decoration inside is a basic common feature of the dynastic net model. The upper trim will then be replaced with an exclusive logo, while the interior decoration of the grille is designed in the "dragon scale" style, with large-size diversion grooves on both sides.

On the side of the body, BYD Xia has similar elements to the Tengli D9, but it is not a shell-changing model of the Tengli D9. In addition to the different waistline design, the transition line of the Teng D9 from the A column to the roof is smoother, and the C and D columns are visually tilted forward more obviously, so the whole feels like a forward diving posture, while Xia tends to be more stable.

In the rear part of the car, BYD's rear design is regular, with a small spoiler at the top, and the taillights are designed through, with an internal structure similar to that of the Han Dynasty, which is also a dynastic network. In terms of size, the length, width and height of BYD MPV is 5145/1970/1805mm, the wheelbase is 3045mm, and the overall size is slightly smaller than Tengli D9. It is worth mentioning that BYD's front and rear car logo uses "BYD" rather than "summer" 's exclusive car logo. BYD has previously invited users and netizens to co-create and solicit the brand new IP logo LOGO, which is expected to be applied to the new car when it finally goes on sale.

As for the interior, according to previous espionage photos, the car was equipped with a large-size full liquid crystal instrument and central control screen, the electronic handle was small, and the A-pillar was equipped with a camera to serve the face recognition function. According to official information, BYD will be equipped with DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system and DiLink 150 smart cockpit.

In terms of power, BYD MPV will adopt the fifth generation DM hybrid technology. According to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the car will be equipped with a DM-i plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine and a motor. The power parameters may refer to the 2025 Han DM-i and Tang DM-i, with a maximum power of 115kW for the engine and 200kW for the drive motor. At the same time, the car will match a battery pack with a capacity of 36.628 kilowatt hours, with a pure electric mileage of 145km (or WLTC) announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and a comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.5L for 100km in the state of power supply.

In BYD's product series, Song MAX has been the only MPV for a long time, but if you open the configuration table, you can find that the latest model of Song MAX is still 2022, which can be said to be unable to keep up with the development speed of the current MPV market.
