AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/28 Report--
The deadline for the five-year zero interest event for some Model 3 and Model Y models has been extended from September 30 to October 31, according to Tesla's official website on Sept. 27. It is understood that the activity still covers only the rear-wheel drive version and the long-range all-wheel drive version, not the high-performance version.
From the perspective of the timeline, Tesla announced on July 1 the purchase rights of its Model 3xpx Y model, and the rear-drive standard / long-range four-wheel drive model can enjoy a limited time and zero interest installment purchase plan before July 31. On July 23rd, Tesla announced that the event would be postponed until August 31st. On August 26th, Tesla postponed the event to September 30. In addition, this is the third time that Tesla has announced an extension.
Behind the postponement of the event may be the pressure on the market for the Model 3max Y model. According to the Federation of passengers, Tesla sold 289400 Model Y vehicles and Tesla Model 3 sold 98600 vehicles in the first eight months of 2024. According to the sales list, Model Y is one of the top three best-selling models in China. Qin PLUS New Energy ranks first with 323800 vehicles, including 122300 pure electric vehicles and 201500 plug-in hybrids, followed by Tesla Model Y. Judging from the data, Tex Model Y is the best-selling pure electric car and the best-selling SUV in China.
Because of this, more and more domestic electric vehicles begin to aim at Model Y and regard it as a competitor, trying to grab 20 to 300000 yuan of pure electric SUV market share.
On September 26th, Avita Technology's medium-sized SUV-- Avita 07 officially launched, a total of 6 new models were launched, with a price range of 21.99-289900 yuan. Among them, the pure electric version launched three models, the price range is 22.99-289900 yuan. According to previous reports, the Avita 07 is the third production car under Avita Technology and the cheapest model under Avita. The new car is positioned as a medium-sized SUV, providing pure electricity and extended range hybrid. The main competitor of the pure electric version is Tesla Model Y.
In addition to Avita 07, in the past week, the listed pure electric medium-sized SUV include L60 (20.69-235900 yuan), polar krypton 7X (22.99-269900 yuan), Zhijie R7 (25.98-339800 yuan) and Zhiji LS6 (23.99-302900 yuan). These models are priced lower than Tesla Model Y and offer richer product configurations, but as a pure electric SUV that has been ploughing the Chinese market for many years, this is also incomparable to the above models. This is also the reason why domestic cars regard Tesla Model Y as a competitor, as the best-selling pure electric model in China. You can not only radiate to your own models with the help of Tesla's strong brand influence.
As for Model Y, Yu Chengdong, managing director of Huawei, chairman of terminal BG and chairman of smart car solution BU, praised it as "a very good-selling and excellent product in the pure electric SUV market" at the launch of the intelligent R7, but also boasted that "the goal of the intelligent R7 is to be better than the Model Y and compete across the Model Y with specifications that surpass Tesla Model X."
For the current competition pattern of this market segment, Li Bin, chairman of Lulai, used "six major factions to besiege Model Y" in the group chat screenshot exposed. So who will stand out in this siege and who will end the sales myth of Model Y? It is still waiting for follow-up market data to speak out.
