On October 2nd, Czech carmaker Skoda officially released the new pure electric SUV--Elroq official chart. It is understood that Skoda Elroq can be seen as Skoda Krook's successor, and will for the first time use Skoda's latest Modern Solid design language, based on Volkswagen MEB platform, positioning pure electric compact SUV, providing rear-drive and four-wheel drive.

In terms of appearance, Skoda Elroq will use the latest family design language, the entire front face shape is similar to the X type, the top is equipped with a flat grille, and the interior of the grille is a line segment structure. The headlight group adopts a split design, and the line segment type LED daytime driving lights are installed on both sides of the front, and the function of the turn signal is integrated. Below it is the headlight group of the LED light source, and the light group of the top model has 36 light-emitting units to form the LED matrix headlamps. There are air intakes on both sides of the front enclosure, and the middle position of the front enclosure is decorated with chrome-plated dots. At the same time, the central front of the front cabin cover canceled Skoda's traditional round brand logo and used a three-dimensional "SKODA" letter logo.

On the side of the body, the Skoda Elroq uses a through waistline, which is integrated with the seams of the front engine hatch and the front fender, and is connected to daytime driving lights and taillights. It is worth mentioning that the new car uses a mechanical door handle and does not use a hidden design. In terms of size, the length, width and height of Skoda Elroq are 4488/1882/1654mm. In the rear part, the new car will use a slender taillight design, equipped with rear surround shape and vent design, showing a good sense of movement.

In terms of interior decoration, Skoda Elroq adopts symmetrical central console layout, flat bottom and multi-function direction, and is equipped with mechanical keys and rollers. The new car is equipped with full liquid crystal meters, but the exact size has not been announced, and the overall look is not very large. The size of the suspended central control screen is 13 inches, there are mechanical buttons under the air outlet of the central air conditioner, and the shape of the electronic baffle is very small. In addition, the new car has atmosphere lights in the details of the door and center console, and the interior panel of the front door is also designed for umbrella storage space. In addition, Skoda Elroq is not only designed with rear independent air conditioning outlet, but also equipped with rear air conditioning temperature control panel and rear seat heating function, the middle of the rear passageway is also equipped with storage grid, and equipped with two USB Type-C ports.

In terms of power, Skoda Elroq offers both rear-drive and four-wheel drive power layouts. Among them, the rear-drive model is available in three versions: Elroq 50 with maximum power of 168hp and peak torque of 310Nm; Elroq 60 with 201hp and peak torque of 310Nm; and Elroq 85 with 282hp and peak torque of 545Nm. In addition, the Elroq 85X is a dual-motor all-wheel drive model, but the specific power parameters of Skoda have not yet been announced. In terms of battery life, the Skoda Elroq carries power batteries of 52 kWh, 59 kWh and 77 kWh, as well as a rear-drive version of 77 kWh with a range of 560km under WLTP conditions.

In March 2023, Skoda held a press conference to announce plans to launch no fewer than six electric vehicles by 2026 to cover all market segments. Among them, the Elroq model is scheduled to go on sale in 2024, which is positioned as a compact pure electric vehicle. The Elroq is Skoda's second all-electric SUV model. The first all-electric SUV--ENYAQ iV debuted in September 2020 and is based on the Volkswagen MEB pure electric vehicle platform, offering both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. However, it is not clear whether Skoda Elroq will be introduced into China in the future.
