SAIC-Volkswagen's last PRO has finally been announced!

In the latest issue of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology declaration catalogue, "Automotive Industry concern" obtained the declaration chart of SAIC-Volkswagen's new generation Tuang PRO. As a replacement model, the new car adopts a brand-new appearance and is powered by a 2.0T engine. In accordance with the previous SAIC-Volkswagen Touguan L PRO, Passat pro and cash models in the same sales strategy, it is expected that the replacement of Tuang PRO will also be sold in the same room with cash Tuen models.

Although the new Tuen PRO is still a pure fuel car, it looks more like a new energy car, including details such as a closed front face and hidden door handles. Specifically, the new Tuen PRO also offers two styling options, with the front face using a closed design style, while the traditional hollowed-out front grille is replaced by an integrated panel, leaving only the small air intake located at the lower part of the front sign and the lower part of the front bumper. The classic double-decker lamp style has been retained and a new style of block-through headlamp design has been introduced, which looks quite avantgarde and stylish at the same time. The main difference of the R-Line version is that the imitation air inlet shape is added on both sides of the front bumper, and the details of the whole vehicle are blackened.

On the side of the car body, the new Tuang PRO body lines are more stretched than the cash Tuang, the lower line of the side window cancels the upward trend between the C column and D column, and the overall visual effect of the side is close to that of the current Audi Q6. It is worth mentioning that the PRO uses a hidden door handle flush with the car body, making it have a certain new energy vehicle styling style, which has not appeared on the previous Tuguan L PRO and Passat pro. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5158/1991/1788mm, and the wheelbase is 2980mm. Compared with the current model, the length of the car increases by 106mm, and the wheelbase remains the same.

On the rear side, the new Tuen PRO continues the through taillight group design, but uses a new square format taillight shape, which looks very electronic and technological. The lower part is still the penetrating reflective strip used by the new generation of models, while canceling the bilateral exhaust styling.

According to the declaration, the new Tuen PRO continues to carry a 2.0T turbocharged engine, and the tail mark of the car is adjusted to "450TSI", not the "330TSI" and "380TSI" used in the current Tuen 2.0T model, with a maximum power of 200kW, which is much higher than the 162kW parameter of the 380TSI model, but lower than the 220kW parameter of the 2.5T V6 engine. In terms of transmission system, the 7-speed wet double clutch gearbox is expected to continue to be used.

Tuang, a medium-sized and large SUV of SAIC-Volkswagen, called Teramont in English, made its debut at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show and officially launched six-seater and seven-seater models in March 2017. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.0TSI high / low power engine and a 2.5T V6 engine. The 2.5T V6 engine also appears in the Chinese market for the first time, with a maximum torque of 500Nm and even more parameters than the previous 3.0T V6 engine on Huieng. In May 2019, SAIC-Volkswagen launched the Tuen X, which can be seen as a Coupe version of Tuen, a five-seater medium-to-large SUV.

As a medium and large SUV, Tuen's main competitors include sister models Volkswagen Patrol, Ford Explorer, Nissan Land Exploration, Buick Anke Flag, etc., as well as new energy SUV such as M7, ideal L7, Lantu FREE, Xiaopeng G9, Wei Brand Lanshan, etc. In terms of sales, the medium and large SUV with the highest sales in the first eight months of 2024 was the M7, with 133400 vehicles, followed by the ideal L6 and the ideal L7. If you look at the fuel car market alone, the medium and large fuel SUV with the highest sales volume is the BMW X5, followed by Tu Aung with 35300 vehicles, with 20600 vehicles on patrol and 13100 vehicles in range.
