On October 17, the new generation of Nissan Loulan was officially released overseas. As a replacement model, the new Loulan has been redesigned for its appearance and interior. the biggest change is the power system. The 3.5L V6 engine is replaced by a 2.0T VC-Turbo four-cylinder engine, and the CVT gearbox is replaced by a nine-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of appearance, the new generation of Loulan adopts the latest design language of Nissan, and the overall style is designed in part with the styles of ARIYA and Jinke. The iconic V-Motion intake grille on the front face is integrated with parallel lights to form a separate design with the long and narrow headlights. In addition, the car is also designed with slender headlights, and the shape of the front bumper is adjusted synchronously.

On the basis of solid color car paint, the new generation of Loulan provides black roof painting to form the visual effect of a two-color body, and a chrome strip is added to the edge of the roof, which is obviously different from that of the third generation Loulan. In the rear part of the car, the new generation of Loulan uses a penetrating taillight group, the side under the taillight is marked with Loulan "MURANO" English logo, and the license plate frame is moved to the rear bumper position. It is worth noting that the car has a hidden exhaust layout, and the AWD logo indicates that it will be equipped with a four-wheel drive system. As for the size, except for the increase in width, the other data remain almost the same as the previous generation.

In terms of interior decoration, the new generation of Loulan offers three kinds of interior themes to choose from, and the center console panel has a variable color texture. The new car features a dual 12.3-inch integrated screen, wireless connectivity for CarPlay and Android Auto phones, and a built-in Google app. In addition to replacing the new double-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, the new Loulan uses a push-button shift mechanism to replace the traditional shift lever, and the lower side of the central control screen is equipped with a touch control area and a mobile phone wireless charging panel.

The power part is also the focus of this generation. the 3.5L V6 engine used in the previous generation is replaced by a 2.0T VC-Turbo four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 244hp and a peak torque of 353Nm. The transmission system is a nine-speed automatic transmission instead of a CVT continuously variable transmission.

Nissan Loulan (Murano) is a medium-sized SUV owned by Nissan. It doesn't have a long history in terms of birth time, but it is definitely a pioneer in this category in terms of Crossover SUV's positioning. The original purpose of Nissan to launch this model is to focus on the North American market, so it uses the same FF-L platform as the Maxima and Altima, which Nissan sells well in the North American market. In September of the same year, Dongfeng Nissan Loulan officially went on sale, initially launching only one model with a 3.5L engine, matched with a CVT continuously variable transmission, with a price of 488800 yuan. Due to the use of CKD full-scattered assembly method made in China, the cost of the second generation of Loulan is relatively high, the price is also high, the performance of domestic sales is very dismal.

At the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, Dongfeng Nissan unveiled the third-generation Loulan, adjusting its appearance and interior. In August of the same year, Dongfeng Nissan third-generation Loulan officially went on sale, providing two kinds of power, including a total of nine models, with a price range of 23.88-379800 yuan. In terms of power, the third generation Loulan abandoned the 3.5L V6 engine and switched to a 2.5L engine and a hybrid system. Among them, the 2.5L naturally aspirated engine has a maximum power of 186hp and a peak torque of 230Nm, which is matched by a CVT transmission. At present, Loulan has stopped selling in China, and its sales are very dismal in recent years. 3702 vehicles were sold in 2023 and 6442 in 2022. Before the suspension, it was a 2021 model with a price range of 238800-283800 yuan.

As a medium-sized SUV, Nissan Loulan's main competitors include Toyota Halanda, Ford Ruijie, Volkswagen Tanyue, and Buick Ankoway for the same class. According to the latest news, the new generation of Loulan is expected to go on sale overseas by the end of this year or early 2025, and may start work in the domestic market next year, and make up for the current vacancy of Dongfeng Nissan's medium-sized SUV products. However, the reintroduction of domestic Loulan, whether it is still competitive, as a fuel vehicle, its pricing is particularly critical.
