BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. recalled 11851 imported 3-series cars from February 23, 2012 to June 24, 2016, and a total of 4449 imported 4-series cars from June 17, 2013 to February 26, 2016. a total of 24390 5-series cars were imported from October 24, 2011 to January 31, 2017. A total of 6052 X1 cars were imported from August 17, 2011 to December 16, 2013, 34736 X3 cars were imported from September 14, 2011 to August 21, 2017, 3177 X4 cars were imported from May 21, 2014 to February 12, 2018, and 85641 X5 cars were imported from June 3, 2015 to June 30, 2018. A total of 15571 X6 cars were imported from June 3, 2015 to May 15, 2019, and a total of 2504 Z4 cars were imported from August 30, 2011 to May 7, 2016.

The reason for the recall is that the vehicles within the scope of the recall are not tightly sealed and may be eroded by external liquids due to problems with the plug position and structural design of the 400W electric coolant pump. Under the influence of a long time, it will lead to corrosion or corrosion inside the plug, resulting in internal short circuit. In extreme cases, it is impossible to rule out the possibility of local overheating, increase the risk of vehicle fire, and there are hidden dangers. In view of the above defects, brilliance BMW Co., Ltd., BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will check the plug and plug connection of the electric coolant pump for the vehicles within the recall range free of charge, and replace them if necessary, at the same time, install a protective cover on the plug connector to eliminate safety risks.

Since the beginning of 2024, BMW has launched several recalls. From the perspective of the recall, this recall involves domestic 3 series, 5 series, X1 and imported 3 series, 4 series, 5 series, X1, X3, X4, X5, X6, Z4, with a total recall of 687910 vehicles, of which 499539 are domestic models. However, the recall will not begin until March 1, 2025.

In addition to the recall launched by BMW, Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and McLaren Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. also announced the recall on the same day.

Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. It is decided that from now on, a total of 33 domestic Volvo XC40 cars produced during the period from November 6, 2023 to July 22, 2024 will be recalled.

The reason for the recall is that for some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to production and assembly reasons, the fixed bolts of the driver seat and the car body may not be tightened, and the loosening of the seat fixing bolts will increase the risk of injury to the occupants in the event of a vehicle collision accident. There is a safety risk. In view of the above defects, Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will entrust Volvo car authorized dealers to inspect the vehicles within the recall range free of charge and re-fasten the bolts as required to eliminate safety risks.

McLaren Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. It is decided to recall a total of 658 imported GT vehicles manufactured from November 26, 2019 to April 4, 2023 from December 31, 2024.

The reason for the recall is that for some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the manual release of the cable tension of the front trunk cover latch is too large, which may cause the lock to open accidentally, which in extreme cases may cause the front suitcase lid to turn over while the vehicle is driving, affecting the driver's field of vision and increasing the risk of vehicle collision. In view of the above defects, McLaren Automobile sales (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will replace the new front suitcase cover latch assembly for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
