On October 23rd, the new Genisse GV70 officially launched, and a total of two models were launched at a price of 10,000 yuan. As a medium-term revamped model, the new car is mainly aimed at a substantial upgrade of the interior, a small adjustment in appearance, and a 2.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Compared with 2023 models on sale, the number of new Genisys GV70 models has been reduced from three to two, canceling the "four-wheel drive deluxe version" with mid-positioning, and retaining the entry-level "rear-drive deluxe version" and the top "four-wheel drive flagship version". Compared with the current guidance price of 2023 models, the starting price of the new Genisse GV70 has dropped to less than 300000 yuan, compared with 2023 entry models by 10,000 yuan and the top version by 10,000 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the new Genisse GV70 does not change much in appearance. On this basis, the new Genisse GV70 adds two appearance styles: the Fengya appearance kit and the sports appearance kit, which are different in appearance style and detail design.

Specifically, the sports appearance kit has blackened appearance details, including dark chrome side window frames and black brake calipers. In addition, the sports appearance kit model has a larger black grid area on the lower part of the front bumper and a bilateral two-way exhaust layout at the rear, but the exhaust shape has been changed from a 2023 circle to a quadrilateral. In contrast, the Fengya look kit appropriately weakens the sporty style, including full-car bright chromed appearance details, reduced black mesh area of the front bumper, new hidden exhaust, matte gray rim color matching and silver brake calipers.

In contrast, the new Genisse GV70 has a more obvious change in interior design, with an eye-catching dual-screen design, a new 27-inch dual-screen design made up of LCD dashboards and multimedia displays, and the steering wheel has been replaced with a new three-spoke design. The air conditioning outlet and entertainment control buttons below have also been readjusted, as well as a new style of three-spoke multi-function steering wheel.

At the same time, the style difference between the two suite models is also reflected in the interior. Among them, the sports appearance kit model is equipped with flat-bottomed steering wheel, red seat belt, diamond seat seam and other details to further improve the sports atmosphere in the car. The difference is that the Fengya appearance kit model is equipped with a circular steering wheel, two-color interior colors and roof linings similar to those wrapped in fur.

On the power side, the new Genisse GV70 still carries a 2.5T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 304hp, peak torque of 422N ·m, 0-100km/h acceleration of 6.1 seconds, matched with an eight-block self-contained gearbox, and offers rear-drive and four-wheel drive versions.

In terms of the market for the new Genisse GV70, its peers include Mercedes-Benz GLCs, BMW X3 and Audi Q5L, as well as Cadillac XT5 and Lincoln navigators. Compared with the mainstream models of the same class, the price advantage of the new Genisse GV70 is more obvious, and the 2.5T engine also has an advantage in parameters compared with the 2.0T power commonly carried by competitive models, if you do not consider the brand, it is indeed a good time to start, but most consumers buy fuel cars, especially luxury brands, basically go for the brand, so it is difficult for Genisse GV70 to be recognized. Coupled with the small number of stores, it is difficult to sell on a large scale. In addition, as an imported luxury brand, Genisse is also very difficult to compete with the domestic new Cadillac XT5 (pre-sale price of 279900 yuan per mouth), Lincoln Voyager and other models "volume" price, its brand recognition and premium ability is obviously at a disadvantage.

As a Korean luxury brand, Genisse, which was born in November 2015, is relatively younger than the mainstream luxury brands on the market. The brand entered the Chinese market for the second time in April 2021. Currently, domestic models for sale include G70 (medium-sized sedan), G80 (medium-sized sedan, providing pure electric version), G90 (large car), GV60 (electric medium-sized SUV), GV70 (medium-sized SUV, pure electric version), GV80 (medium-and large-sized SUV) and so on. Although there are many products, Genisse, as an imported brand, is not an audience, and the current life of Korean brands in the domestic market is not easy, and the high-end luxury brand market is extremely involved. Genisse has always been unable to keep up with the pace of the market in brand awareness and marketing promotion. In the first three quarters of 2024, Genisse sold 888 vehicles in China, down 24.8% from a year earlier, according to traffic insurance data.
