It is understood that the Audi A5L will become the first FAW Audi model equipped with Huawei smart car.

In terms of appearance, the new Audi A5L hatchback continues the overall external profile of the overseas version, with a wide polygonal grille in the front and a black mesh structure with a luminous Audi fourth ring logo, which is more ferocious and atmospheric than the previous generation. At the same time, the new Audi A5L will use a newly designed headlight set, the latter half of the shape compared to the cash model is relatively round, the internal LED daytime driving lights are similar to the feather style, adding a certain degree of recognition to the front part. The front enclosure also adopts a brand-new design, with long and narrow rectangular air intakes under the front middle net, larger ventilation grooves on both sides, and the lines of the front cover are also adjusted, so that the visual effect of the front part is more sporty than the cash model.

According to previous news, the new Audi A5L will lengthen the size, with a length of nearly 5 meters and a wheelbase of nearly 3 meters, reaching the C-class (medium and large cars) standard, positioning the main movement and competing with the BMW 5-Series standard wheelbase version. It is worth noting that the car does not continue the new A5 overseas version of the Sportback sliding roof, hatchback rear door structure, but uses a traditional hatchback rear shape similar to the Audi A4L on sale.

In the rear part of the car, the new Audi A5L is equipped with through-type LED taillights and quadrilateral double-outlet exhaust and other design details, while the bottom is a sporty rear diffuser design. In terms of interior decoration, the new Audi A5L has not yet been displayed. With reference to overseas models, the new central control uses a three-screen design, including an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit (LCD instrument screen) and a 14.5-inch central control MMI touch screen, with an optional 10.9-inch entertainment screen in front of the passenger, similar to the new Audi Q6L e-tron. In addition, the new car uses a new steering wheel shape, and the shift mechanism has been changed from an electronic gear to a smaller electronic slider style, making the sub-instrument console look more concise.

In terms of power, the new Audi A5L will be equipped with a 2.0T four-cylinder engine, but the specific parameters are still unknown and are expected to provide high and low power adjustment, with a maximum power of 110kW for the low-power version and 150kW for the high-power version, matched with a seven-gear S-tronic double clutch automatic transmission.

Audi A4 and Audi A6 are renamed from the same car series. Audi A6 is formerly Audi 100, while Audi A4 is Audi 80 (B1), which was first born in 1972. After four generations of Audi 80, the Audi A4 of the unified platform was officially born in 1994, and the chassis number has not evolved since its launch, from B5 to B6, B7, B8, B9. The Audi A4 currently on sale is code name B9, that is, the fifth generation Audi A4, which was officially launched in 2016.

It is understood that FAW-Audi first introduced the A4L Magi A4L on January 5, 2009. it is a new car launched by Audi only in Chinese mainland, which is similar to the relationship with A6-A6L. It is also a model derived from the configuration changes and market demand after overseas models are made in China. In April 2020, FAW-Audi launched the new A4L, which is the mid-term modification of the fifth generation model codenamed B9. Four years have passed since now, and the model is currently on sale in 2024, with a price of 32.18-400800 yuan. It is understood that the Audi A4L will also complete the last annual change before the replacement, and the car will be officially renamed FAW Audi A5L and sold in the same room with the changed Audi A4L.

In the domestic market, the main competitors of Audi A4L include traditional fuel vehicles such as BMW 3-Series (guidance price 299900-399900 yuan), Mercedes-Benz C-Class (guidance price 334800-380600 yuan) and Cadillac CT5 (guidance price 289700-341,700 yuan). In the first three quarters, Audi A4L sold 89900 vehicles, underperforming BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3-Series 118900 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class 134500.

In addition, with the fierce competition in the domestic market, Audi A4L is no longer the exclusive of FAW-Audi. After the replacement, SAIC Audi will also make domestic A5L, but SAIC Audi will carry out localization transformation of the products.
