Today, domestic independent brand BYD Co., Ltd. released sales figures for April 2019. According to this data sheet, 24011 new energy vehicles were sold in April 2019, with a total of 97183 this year, an increase of 123.13% over last year's total of 43555.

BYD is also a battery manufacturer, so it started relatively early in the field of new energy. Among the new energy vehicles, 22735 were sold for passenger vehicles and 1276 for commercial vehicles. Among them, 16116 pure electric vehicles are sold, 6619 plug-in hybrid vehicles are sold, 207buses are sold, and 1069 other models are sold. In terms of fuel vehicles, 13828 vehicles were sold in April 2019, down 44.85 per cent from the same period last year. BYD said that the total installed capacity of power and storage batteries for new energy vehicles in April 2019 was about 1.625GWh, and the total installed capacity this year was about 5.591GWh.

In addition, BYD released its performance report for the first quarter of 2019, which showed that BYD sold 73712 new energy vehicles in the first quarter, an increase of 147% over the same period last year, a growth rate higher than the industry average. Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, said: "the company's car sales target is 650000 in 2019, a year-on-year growth of 30 per cent."

In terms of specific model sales, the BYD Tang family sold 8586 vehicles in April, while the Qin family contributed more than 4,500 vehicles, the Song family contributed more than 9,700 vehicles, and the Yuan family contributed more than 6,400 cars. it can be said that the models of the BYD dynasty series are relatively uniform in the monthly sales in April. BYD's e-series contributed more than 1,100 vehicles.

The continuous introduction of new models and the continuous improvement of the product matrix may be closely related to BYD's deep technical reserves and R & D and innovation capabilities, and then to the "four families" of the Qin, Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties.
