Then, on March 17, Shenzhen New Energy vehicle Application and Promotion Center issued an emergency notice that enterprises and individuals immediately stopped using BAIC Weiwang 407EV, and charging operators stopped providing charging services for the model.

During the accident investigation, BAIC New Energy suspended the operation of all Weiwang 407EV models in Shenzhen, started the car electricity separation of risk batteries, and compensated for the losses caused by customer outages.

After two months of investigation and analysis by the manufacturer and a detailed report, the Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission formally "notified BAIC Weiwang 407EV incident" on May 10, confirming that the charging spontaneous combustion was due to the quality risk of the power battery pack.

"it is determined by accident investigation that power battery suppliers have assigned part of the battery packaging with quality risks to Weiwang 407EV, resulting in frequent thermal out-of-control incidents." BAIC New Energy will comprehensively carry out vehicle quality inspection and vehicle safety upgrading of the accident models.

It is understood that 407EV, a WeChat product brand under Weiwang BAIC Group, was suspended from its launch in March this year. It has only been in operation for four months. The car sells for 109800 yuan, the highest speed is 80km/h, and a set of ternary lithium battery packs with 43.5kWh capacity are used. Pure electric battery life is 220km. And support DC fast charging, it will take half an hour to charge to 80%.
