Tesla Model Y, which will be officially delivered next year, is the fifth production car of Tesla brand. The new car is positioned as a five-door mid-size SUV and offers optional configuration for a seven-seat version. At present, the official pre-sale price starts at 435,000 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the overall design style and body elements of Model Y are based on Model 3. The biggest change is that the height of the body is increased, and the vehicle will have a seven-seat version. From the front you'll see it looks a lot like the Model 3, but the overall shape of the sides and tail is more like a smaller version of the Model X.

On the interior side, officials say the overall design style is basically the same as that of the Model 3, but the interior space is larger and the third row of seats is available as an option. Model Y also uses the same panoramic sky curtain as Model 3 in size. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said earlier that in addition to having more seating space, Model Y safety will be the most prominent product force of the car.

As a brand-new SUV model, the Model Y is made on the same platform as the Model 3, sharing 75% of its parts. The official also said that future Model Y and Model 3 models will be produced in a new factory established in Shanghai, China, significantly reducing costs and selling prices in the Chinese market.

The Model Y has four configurations, with only the lowest, 390km standard battery life version with no specific scheduling time. The remaining three configurations will be delivered next fall, while the Chinese market will have to wait until 2021. Among them, the pre-sale price of the rear-wheel drive long-endurance version in China is 435,000 yuan, the official display shows that the maximum endurance is 540km, and the acceleration time of 0-100km/h is 5.8 seconds.

More importantly, thanks to Tesla's new sales model, customers who are dissatisfied with the product within seven days of use or 1000 miles can get a full refund at any time.

The Model 3 has already made Tesla profitable quarterly for a while, and the compact SUV Model Y will be Tesla's main money-making model.
