AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/15 Report--
Over the past few months, Tesla model prices have been adjusted several times. Recently, Tesla has raised the price of Model 3 by $400. At present, the lowest price of Model 3 on the official website of the United States is $399,000.
The price hike also includes the $35,000 base version, which applies to all new Model 3 orders through May 13, but does not apply to inventory vehicles manufactured before May 12.
Asked by foreign media about Tesla's price increase, a Tesla spokesman said: "This is a normal adjustment, and we, like other car companies, regularly adjust prices and available options."
Tesla also suggested that the company is building an optional feature for autonomous driving for the Model 3, but this configuration costs $1400 in the US market and $1000 elsewhere.
As for the basic Model 3, which costs $35,000, Tesla also puts it outside the official website reservation interface, and consumers can only buy it through physical stores and telephone purchases.
On March 1 this year, Tesla announced price cuts for eight models on sale, including Model S, Model X and Model 3, with a maximum drop of about 341,100 yuan. Tesla also said that in order to save costs, it would close offline stores, implement comprehensive online sales and reduce the price of models. Later, he quickly reneged on saying that he would keep the general physical stores, and some models increased their prices by 3%.
Tesla faces huge cash pressure this year, with revenue of $4.54 billion in the first quarter, up 33% year-on-year and down 60% month-on-month, below market expectations of $4.84 billion.
