Peter Robb, general counsel of the US Labor Relations Board, recently concluded in a memo of recommendations that the drivers of the online ride-hailing platform Uber are independent contractors, not regular employees. Rob says Uber drivers set their own working hours, own their own cars, and are free to work for rival platforms. Therefore, they cannot be regarded as regular employees according to the federal labor law of the United States.

Earlier, we reported that when Uber was publicly listing IPO on May 8, he encountered contracted drivers from five cities in the eastern United States to go on strike to protest against his unreasonable working hours.

According to local policies and laws, these taxi drivers still have to pay payroll tax at a lower income. Therefore, Uber's approach has always been dissatisfied with many contracted drivers.
