Autonomic, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford, has established a partnership with Japanese IT technology supplier Fujitsu; it will provide real-time travel technology and cloud data services to OEM manufacturers around the world. The two companies will first provide Ford Motor Company with transportation cloud platform (TMC) and Fujitsu system integration services, and then promote it to global automakers.

With the continuous growth of Internet taxi business in Europe, the United States and the Asia-Pacific region, cloud data and electrification are gradually reaching cars; the automobile industry is gradually developing towards service-oriented (mobility-as-a-service); the system greatly increases the demand for platform services for fast and flexible travel. This needs to deal with a large amount of data of mobile travel, and the biggest problem is to optimize the data and the best travel route and the models used online; and the two sides use their own advantages in their respective fields to provide technical solutions for global automakers or online car platforms.

There is a precedent for computer manufacturers to join the automotive ecosystem; Google and Amazon used their technology and Internet platform advantages 10 years ago to provide data and travel analysis for automotive service industries such as Uber and yellowcab,sixty.
