AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/16 Report--
German luxury brand "troika" have released global sales performance reports in April 2019, BMW brand in April global sales reached 196200 vehicles (including MINI and Russell), surpassing Mercedes-Benz and Audi April sales performance, increased year-on-year, the other two brands showed year-on-year decline.
Relevant data released from BMW's global website show that BMW continues to run zero. BMW's cumulative global sales in April were 196179, up 0.7 per cent from a year earlier. Global sales totaled 801520 vehicles from January to April, up 0.2 per cent from the same period last year. It has become the only one of the three major luxury brands showing a year-on-year upward trend, and in the Chinese market, BMW's sales reached a record high of 59169 vehicles in April, up 18.2 per cent from a year earlier.
In terms of car models, the cumulative sales of 3-series cars exceeded 58000 from January to April and 15000 in April, while 5-series models sold more than 45000 from January to April and 11000 in April. For SUV, the X1 sold more than 30, 000 vehicles in the first four months, while the X3 sold 36000 in the first four months.
BMW's new 3-Series is now offline, will go public in June and compete for market share with the recently listed X7.
Global sales reached 181900 in April, down 5.5 per cent from a year earlier, according to official Mercedes-Benz figures. Cumulative sales from January to April 2019 were 742800, down 5.6 per cent from a year earlier. Although Mercedes-Benz's global sales have declined, Mercedes-Benz's sales in China hit a new high in April, reaching 57700 vehicles in April, up 0.8 per cent from a year earlier. Mercedes-Benz sells more than 31% of its global sales in China.
In the face of BMW's three consecutive months of sales growth, while Mercedes-Benz sales continued to decline for six consecutive months, but Mercedes-Benz felt that the production capacity of models such as model changes and high-sales SUV was limited.
Audi's sales performance in China in April was not satisfactory. Audi sold 140000 vehicles worldwide in April, down 12.8% from a year earlier. Audi's cumulative sales from January to April were 587000. Down 5.9 from a year earlier. In the Chinese market, monthly sales in April were 46000, down 1.5 per cent from a year earlier, while cumulative sales from January to April this year were 20.5 per cent, down 0.5 per cent from a year earlier.
However, Audi's decline in performance does not seem to affect Audi's mentality. For the decline in sales, Audi said that this is related to Audi's future strategic layout, in the face of the upcoming "product lineup upgrade" period, sales and revenue decline is inevitable.
