Frequent accidents in ES8 in Xilai continue to attract attention. After the Xi'an NIO fire accident, an ES8 electric car in Anting, Shanghai, suddenly smoked in the garage on May 16. Although it did not catch fire, the thick smoke almost engulfed the entire garage, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Shen Fei, vice president of Lulai Automotive Energy, released an article entitled "interim measures to enhance charging Safety" on the official APP today, explaining some of the accident in Shanghai's Lulai garage and announcing that for the sake of safety, the charge should be limited to 90% for the time being.

According to Shen Fei, the car in the Shanghai garage accident was parked in the state of inserting a gun for four days, and the system was automatically recharged many times after it was fully charged to keep the battery fully charged for a long time. However, the final cause of the accident, whether the battery problem is involved, Xilai has not announced the details, the incident is still under further investigation.

Temporary emergency measures taken by NIO: in view of the increased failure probability of power batteries in the state of high charge for a long time, out of the principle of safety and prudence, for exclusive piles and vehicles connected to the Internet before the results of the formal investigation, temporary measures will be taken to limit the charge to 90%.

It means that ES8's full battery life of 355km will be limited after the accident.

Shen Fei also said, "for charging in an unconnected state, or when using a third-party charging pile, it is not only necessary, but also advises car owners to charge less than 90% of the electricity in their daily use."

NIO also stressed that this is only a temporary measure, because the pile end is changed quickly, the software will be upgraded later, and the user chooses how much to charge.

Due to frequent failures and spontaneous combustion accidents, the problems of imperfect products and immature technology of Lai automobile have been exposed. Based on the Shanghai garage incident, NIO limited the charge to 90%, which aroused the dissatisfaction of many car owners.

Car owners are more concerned about the impact of reduced range. In addition, the ES8 sold earlier has a range of 355km, and the official recently launched a battery upgrade service. Ordinary users only need to pay 50, 000 yuan to upgrade to the battery pack of 84kWh, and the mileage of NEDC will be more 70Km than before, from 355km to 425km.
