The report believes that the formulation of a timetable for the ban on the sale of fuel vehicles is to give full play to the guiding role of policies and enterprise production planning, and to give a clear market signal to the society, that is, the gradual replacement and withdrawal of traditional fuel vehicles is an irreversible global trend. The first driving force for China to develop new energy vehicles and gradually withdraw from traditional fuel vehicles is to strengthen the prevention and control of air pollution and improve air quality.
Among the countries in the world that have announced ban plans, the report lists 2050 as the latest among them. So far, the Netherlands, Norway, Paris, France, the United Kingdom, India and other countries have launched a specific ban schedule, the earliest is Rome, Italy in 2024, the latest is France in 2040.
At present, some enterprises have put forward a timetable for banning the sale of fuel cars. For example, Volkswagen plans to electrify all models by 2030, and the sales of traditional fuel vehicles will be completely stopped; BAIC has proposed that its own brands will completely stop selling fuel vehicles in China in 2025; Changan Automobile has also proposed to stop selling traditional fuel vehicles in 2025.
