AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/21 Report--
EV Sales website released data on German electric car sales in April, continuing the good sales performance of the previous three months. German electric car sales continued to grow in April, with a cumulative monthly sales of 7771 vehicles.
In Germany, sales of pure electric vehicles rose by more than 50% in April, while sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles rose 14% from a year earlier. The German electric car market accounted for 2.5% of new car sales in April, of which electric vehicles accounted for 1.5% of the market.
Renault's Zoe topped the list of German electric car sales in April, with 939 units sold. Surpassed Tesla's Model 3, but Renault Zoe's January-April sales (3656) were still lower than Tesla's Model 3 (3699). It may be due to Tesla's recent "incidents" or Tesla's price increase that Tesla's sales were depressed in April. Renault Zoe and Tesla Model 3 each have a 12 per cent market share.
BMW i3 and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, which ranked third and fourth, both outsold Tesla's Model 3 in April, at 762and 663, respectively. Volkswagen's e-Golf ranked fifth in monthly sales of 489 vehicles and cumulative sales of 1735 from January to April, with average sales.
The monthly sales of the BMW 530e in April were sizeable, exceeding 30% of the total sales in the previous four months. The biggest surprise was the Porsche Panamera PHEV, which sold 291 cars a month in April, a new record.
Germany, as a big automobile country, the competitive market is also very fierce. Although Tesla Model 3 remained at the top of the sales list in the previous four months, it was only a few dozen vehicles behind Renault Zoe, which ranked second.
