AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/22 Report--

According to foreign media reports, before the 2020 model year, GM's two pickup Chevrolet Solod 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 models will delay the launch of new in-line six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine versions.

The two full-size diesel pickups were originally expected to go on sale in 2019 models in early 2019, but the gasoline version went on sale last fall. GM said production of the 2020 diesel pickup would start soon, but delayed orders would be cancelled or resubmitted.

Since the Volkswagen Group emissions scandal was fined $25 billion by the US NHTSA in September 2015, the US government has become stricter on emission standards, especially for models with diesel engines, which will affect the launch of new cars in the US by manufacturers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz and delay the launch of some models.

The 3.0L Duramax engine is GM's first turbocharged diesel engine in a full-size pick-up truck since 1997. The engine matches a 10-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission with an output of 277 horsepower and a peak torque of up to 460 lb-ft.

GM has not released data on the traction, payload and fuel economy of the Duramax diesel model, which is reported to sell for $2495 for the 5.3L Vmuri 8 version and $3890 for the 2.7L turbocharged version. But the two prices are the same as the surcharge for the 6.2-liter V8, which has a maximum output of 420 horsepower and a peak torque of 460 lb-ft. The diesel engine is produced by the Flint Power Systems plant in Michigan.
