AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/24 Report--

Volkswagen passenger car sales director Youchen Sengepier told the media that Volkswagen will focus its marketing of ID3 electric models on the first batch of subscribers.

Volkswagen has begun selling and accepting orders for the first ID3 compact electric models, but the exact delivery date is not until the middle of next year. During this period of time, Volkswagen will understand why users choose this model and analyze the motivation and use of the purchase. Volkswagen said earlier this month that customers only need to pay a deposit of 1000 euros to register as the first ID3 model users. The deposit is refundable in full before signing a binding contract.

The ID3 model will use Volkswagen's own MEB pure electric model platform, which will be used to produce pure electric cars, SUV,mpv and other models, and will be extended to Volkswagen's brands, Seattle, Skoda and Audi. The MEB platform will be an important strategy for Volkswagen to compete for the commanding heights of pure electric models.

According to the European WLTP cycle test, the mileage of the first version of the ID3 can reach 261 miles on a single charge. Volkswagen expects the battery configuration to be the most popular of the three versions, all with a range of between 200 and 340 miles. Volkswagen aims to achieve sales of 150000 MEB-based models by the end of 2020. The new model will be put into production at the Volkswagen electric car plant in Zwickau, Germany, by the end of this year.

Volkswagen did not say when to launch the all-electric model of the MEB platform in the United States and China, nor did it confirm what will be launched in China and the United States, except that Volkswagen will promote the all-electric vehicle platform worldwide.

The first batch of ID3 customers using wecharege's software will receive free charging services of up to 2000 kilowatt hours from Volkswagen at public charging stations, including fast charging services provided by Ionity in Europe. Users of the first version will have four color options, and the basic model will include voice control and navigation, while the high-end version will fit Volkswagen's first augmented reality heads-up display, two-color exterior and interior design, and panoramic windows.

Volkswagen has said it thinks the first version of the ID3 will be sold out before its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. ID3's customer base is aimed at the European market and will not be sold to the United States or China yet, but this possibility has not been ruled out. Other Volkswagen ID models include the suv and a car for the Chinese and American markets, as well as an all-electric model that replicates the Volkswagen T2.
