The notice describes the cause of the defect, "when the front shock absorbers of some E-class (213 platform) vehicles in the Chinese market are impacted by large external forces, it may cause damage to the front shock absorber and deformation and bending of the front shock absorber fork head." it may even cause the bushing of the lower control arm of some vehicles to protrude and, in extreme cases, may cause the fork head of the shock absorber to break. "

In view of the occurrence of the problem and the emergency treatment, when the notice shows that there is an abnormal noise in the front of the vehicle or the height of one side decreases, the driver should be able to notice obviously, and should pass through the potholed road surface or speed reduction zone at a lower speed. Vehicle inspection or maintenance should be carried out as soon as possible.

Solution: class E vehicles with hidden defects will be equipped with reinforcement components to increase chassis firmness, which are improved lower control arm bushings, upper end gaskets of shock absorber springs and improved buffer blocks. At the same time, the front shock absorber of the original 4mm fork head is replaced by a front shock absorber with a thickness of 5mm fork head.

With regard to the recall news, the defective Product Management Center of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and Mercedes-Benz officials have not issued a relevant announcement, and Mercedes-Benz official customer service staff also said they were not aware of the recall. A person familiar with the matter said that the document was sent to the radio rights protection program group. The notice shows that the recall will start after October and does not rule out the possibility that the formal announcement will be announced later.

In fact, the case of shock absorber fracture of domestic Mercedes-Benz E-class cars has broken out since last year, and many car owners have experienced a thrilling scene of sudden fracture while driving. Judging from the above exposed documents, some models of domestic Mercedes-Benz E-Class cars have design defects, which are sold for the Chinese market.
