The Consumer report released the latest comprehensive ranking of car brands, including scores on satisfaction, reliability and road tests, and Japanese brand Subaru topped the list for the first time. Its excellent reliability and owner satisfaction scores helped it beat South Korea's Hyundai's Gaines.

German brands Porsche and Audi ranked third and fourth, followed by Japanese brands Lexus and Mazda, and Toyota ranked ninth. In addition, Jaguar and Land Rover, which have always had a poor reputation in the United States, are also in their thirties.

Chrysler and Tesla were the two brands with the biggest declines on the list, falling 11 places compared with previous years, with Chrysler at 22nd and Tesla at 19th. The reliability score has lowered Tesla's overall level. Recently, the Consumer report no longer recommended Model 3. The agency released a report on Tesla based on a survey of thousands of car owners, arguing that Model 3 will no longer be recommended because of reliability problems, most of which come from electronics.

It is worth noting that Chinese consumers think that the Japanese system is reliable, while American consumers think it is not that good. Japan's top three automakers rank only in the middle, with Toyota rising one place in ninth place, Honda falling four places to 13th and Nissan in 21st place. Lexus fell one place to fifth, while Infiniti and Acura were also in the middle, at 14th and 16th respectively.

The Consumer report assesses the results of four dimensions, including reliability, owner satisfaction, road test performance and safety performance, by buying its own cars for testing and collecting a large amount of user data, and finally obtains the annual car brand ranking.
