A few days ago, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products.

Recall models:

(1) starting from October 25, 2019, a total of 299780 domestic E-class two-wheel drive vehicles produced from February 25, 2016 to March 13, 2019 will be recalled.

(2) from December 20, 2019, a total of 271716 domestic C-class two-wheel drive vehicles manufactured from May 23, 2014 to June 17, 2017 and some imported C-class two-wheel drive vehicles produced from December 12, 2014 to August 22, 2016 will be recalled.

Reasons for recall:

When the front shock absorber of the vehicle within the scope of this recall is impacted by a large external force, it may cause damage to the shock absorber and deformation and bending of the shock absorber fork head, or even lead to the bushing of the lower control arm of the vehicle protruding, and in extreme cases, it may lead to the fracture of the shock absorber fork head. There is a safety risk.

Solution:

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the improved front shock absorbers or reinforced components for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

The recall was carried out under the circumstances that the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration launched a defect investigation. For some time, the defective Product Management Center of the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration has received defective clues from consumers to reflect the problem. Upon receipt of the defect clues, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration shall immediately organize and carry out defect investigation and assessment. After investigation, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration informed the producers to carry out the recall. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to eliminate safety risks.

Mercedes-Benz authorized service center will notify users of the recall by registered letter, text message and so on.
