Dong Mingzhu, the leader of domestic appliance giant Gree Electric, recently made another plan.

Gree Electric will provide systematic solutions for Geely Automobile in 2019 planning, all smart factories and all parts of staff dormitories and commercial facilities that use air conditioning. The implementation of the mode of cooperation between the two parties will not only save the bidding process, but also reduce manpower, material resources and financial resources.

It is understood that this plan as early as a year ago, Gree Electric and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. have reached a strategic procurement cooperation agreement, Geely Group will use Gree central air conditioning in the new factories nationwide, including magnetic levitation, centrifuge, screw machine, multi-line and terminal equipment.

Miss Dong's car-building process was not very smooth, and the car-building proposal was denied. In April 2016, Gree announced that the company planned to buy Zhuhai Yinlong, but this plan was questioned by many inside and outside the company. Despite the failure of the acquisition plan, Miss Dong personally invested 1 billion yuan in Yinlong, and also brought in Wanda Group Chairman and Jingdong Group Liu Qiangdong to join. Through the signing of strategic cooperation agreement between Gree Electric, Zhuhai Yinlong and Tianjin City Government, it is planned to build a national advanced intelligent electrical equipment, new energy battery and automobile industry base. Later, through Zhuhai Yinlong reorganization Lanzhou Yutong bus plan for 3-5 years, to build a new energy bus industry base in Lanzhou.

Although Zhuhai Yinlong's first new energy vehicle Aifei was launched, it was also Dong Mingzhu's car.

However, all attempts do not seem to go well, Zhuhai Yinlong internal negative news frequently. Not only did this cause her to fall into a public opinion storm, but it also shifted the focus of public attention from her new car. Everyone thought that Miss Dong's dream would be dashed.

However, Gree Electric is using home appliances and equipment manufacturing as an incision to penetrate into the automotive field. In fact, over the past few years, Gree Electric has cooperated with many automobile manufacturers such as FAW Volkswagen and Dongfeng Honda in addition to Geely.

Before this, Gree Electric has provided 23 high-efficiency centrifugal chillers for FAW-Volkswagen's three manufacturing bases. Not only Volkswagen, Gree also provides system solutions for Wuling Automobile and Dongfeng Honda Automobile of SAIC GM in production capacity projects.

This cooperation with Geely Group can be said to be Gree's clear plan to enter the automobile field through other means. According to the current development of Gree, it will not enter the whole vehicle field in the short term, but only test the water from the familiar household appliance field to the traditional car washing manufacturer cooperation way.
