AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/30 Report--

The global self-driving taxi market is likely to exceed $2,000bn in 2030, and the large-scale use of self-driving cars will also have a significant positive impact on many existing industries, according to analysts at UBS Group AG. The estimate is based on a simulation of a fleet of self-driving taxis in New York by UBS evidence Lab (Evidence Lab).

Relevant market values include sources such as car and tire manufacturing, power supply, construction of charging stations and semiconductors needed to support the technology. Ride-sharing companies such as Uber and Lyft may be at the forefront of the self-driving taxi market, but UBS also points out that traditional carmakers such as GM and Volkswagen will also play a leading role. Utilities, telecom operators, tire makers, chipmakers and Internet stocks are also likely to benefit.

For self-driving unmanned ride-hailing, as early as Tesla's tesla network can provide travel services for other users through the sharing of vehicles through network distribution when the owners are not using the vehicles, and incorporate them into an important part of Tesla's future development. Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW also focus on the relevant markets.

Analysts at UBS believe that driverless driving is feasible from a technical point of view as well as a profit perspective. They believe that once the technology is mature, the self-driving taxi business will increase significantly, while BBA, as well as technology suppliers such as Bosch and Softbank Corp., and carmakers are ready for change.

But in spite of this, the public has been concerned about accidents caused by self-driving. Whether consumers can accept the application of new technology to products has become the focus of manufacturers' attention. Industry experts say slower testing and stricter regulation of self-driving cars in Europe could help reduce the number of accidents.
