The Accord hybrid version, which has been highly praised since its launch, will launch a plug-in hybrid version at the end of this year. The new model will be based on the existing hybrid version of Accord, using the third-generation IMMD hybrid system, and will increase battery capacity on the existing basis.

The current Accord hybrid design is based on the ten generations of Accord, and Honda officially named it "Accord sharp hybrid". The Accord hybrid version is younger and more sporty than the ordinary Accord fuel version in appearance and detail. And better in terms of fuel consumption. The second-generation IMMD hybrid system and the third-generation IMMD hybrid system eliminate the traditional gearbox mechanism and use clutches and motors to drive the wheels. The third generation IMMD system is optimized on electrified systems such as batteries and motors.

The 2.0L code LFA11 engine on the IMMD system has a maximum power of 148hp, 156nm torque, thermal efficiency of 40.8% and the highest level in the industry, and motor drive can produce 218 horsepower, maximum torque 315nm.

The current Accord hybrid battery capacity is only 1.3kWh, which can not support the pure electric mode for a long time. Honda wants to launch plug-in hybrid models that meet environmental policy requirements in the Chinese market, and the battery capacity of the Accord PHEV will rise to more than the 15kwh. This is bound to increase the cost of power batteries, and the current Accord hybrid model is priced at 250000. If the plug-in hybrid version is launched, the price of the top model will be close to 300000 yuan. In the future, the competitor of Accord plug-in hybrid version will be Volkswagen's Passat PHEV and Maiteng PHEV. However, compared with Accord, the market share of Accord is relatively low, so Accord needs to control the PHEV version within the price range of its competitors.
