Mercedes-Benz also said, "the new mass-produced GLB SUV will be released this summer, and it will become another Mercedes-Benz model made in China and exclusive to China."

The trailer shows the appearance details of the GLB model, including a recognizable taillight set and a roof luggage rack. The body of the new car may not be as full of hard lines as the concept car. Mercedes-Benz's display of car keys expands many tools, or suggests that the car has a certain degree of functionality and cross-country.

During the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the GLB compact SUV concept car, which is positioned between GLA and GLC, with a body length of 4630mm, a 2829mm wheelbase, a more square and straight overall shape, and a seven-seat version after production. The GLB will be more practical, and the show car is also equipped with cross-country AT tires.

The GLB uses a large front grille and is equipped with the central Mercedes-Benz brand LOGO to greatly improve its recognition. the shape of the lamps and the ornaments under the front are different from other Mercedes-Benz models, especially the design of holes in fog lights on both sides and chrome plating on the air intake under the grille. The side shape appears to be more upright, and in terms of size, its body length is 4630mm, while the wheelbase reaches 2829mm, providing a 7-seat version.

Its interior is a Mercedes-Benz family design, two connected 10.25-inch screens highlight the sense of technology, and the three-spoke steering wheel and three fan air conditioning vents are also common designs on Mercedes-Benz models. The interior of the exhibition car is fully wrapped in brown Alcantara leather, which is generally the regular treatment of the top model. However, there will certainly be a gap between the concept car and the final production version.

Mercedes-Benz GLB is based on Mercedes-Benz MFA platform and belongs to the same architecture platform as current A-Class, B-Class and CLA-Class. In terms of power, the Mercedes-Benz GLB will be equipped with 1.3T and 2.0T turbocharged engines, which are expected to be the same as the high-power version of the A-class, while the 2.0T engine will have a maximum power of 165KW and a maximum torque of 350N ·m, matching an 8-speed double-clutch gearbox. In addition, high-end models will also be equipped with four-wheel drive system.

According to Mercedes-Benz officials, the final production version of the GLB will be released in the summer. As a model in the positioning and price range of GLA and GLC SUV, the car enriches Mercedes-Benz's market segment lineup. Mercedes-Benz GLB founder's styling also has a certain off-road nature, more like a supplement to the GLK type SUV that has been replaced.
