Skylark Automobile was established in July 1996 by Guizhou Skylark Automobile Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 300 million yuan, and is one of the eight car production bases approved by the state.

At that time, Guihang lacked technical resources, so Guihang cooperated with Japan's Fuji (Subaru), and Subaru only "sold" the technology of a compact car to Guihang by way of technology transfer. The prototype was Subaru REX, which was later named Skylark.

In the six years from 1992 to 1998, the net loss of skylarks has exceeded 700 million yuan. In order to survive, Skylark can only continue to work with Subaru to form a joint venture to carry the EN07 EFI engine on Subaru Vivio and give it a new name Skylark WOW "Wind Wings". However, sales remain sluggish.

In 2004, after a round of reorganization, Zhejiang Jinhua Youth Group officially took ownership of Guihang Skylark and changed its name to Guihang Youth Skylark Automobile Co., Ltd. As for the past production of skylarks, the youth group chose to give up and reinvent themselves. as a result, the brand of Skylark was officially cancelled. After that, Young Lotus also declared bankruptcy in 2017.

In mid-2017, the name of Guihang Youth Lotus was officially changed to Guizhou Guiteng Automobile Co., Ltd. Based on the expansion of the previous Skylark model factory, it will work closely with new energy enterprises to develop and produce new energy vehicle products in the future. However, due to the previous production qualification of the youth lotus hand-held fuel car, it was decided to combine the name "lark car" with the youth lotus Logo to take the lead in launching traditional fuel car products to return to the market.

The Skylark began to apply for a new logo in 2016 and finally registered in 2018. The periphery of the new LOGO is round, which can represent the universe and the earth, and it is a perfect symbol. It is a morphological symbol of Chinese traditional culture, symbolizing the harmony and perfection of people living on the earth. The interior looks a lot like an airplane because Skylark was born in the aircraft manufacturing industry. The new logo has been used on Skylark Q1.
