Evergrande Group will invest 160 billion yuan to build three major industrial bases of new energy vehicles in Nansha, Guangzhou.

On June 11, the Guangzhou Municipal people's Government and Evergrande Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. According to the agreement, the two sides will establish an omni-directional, deep-seated and multi-field strategic cooperation relationship, and Evergrande will deeply cultivate the new energy vehicle industry in Guangzhou; the Guangzhou municipal government will continue to deepen the reform of the business environment, provide quality and efficient services, and fully support Evergrande's development in Guangzhou.

The plan of this agreement is that Evergrande invests 160 billion to build three bases of new energy vehicles in Nansha District of Guangzhou, among which the R & D and production base of new energy vehicles will be built into a production base of Evergrande New Energy Automobile Group with an annual production capacity of 1 million vehicles in the future. The new energy battery R & D and production base will build a power battery super factory on the production scale of 50GWH. The motor R & D and production base will build a motor and electric control system production base with a capacity of 1 million vehicles.

Xu Jiayin has previously announced that Evergrande will not set foot in other larger industries in the past five years, and that the new energy vehicle industry will be the leader of Evergrande's industry. Therefore, Evergrande began to vigorously deploy new energy vehicles last year, and now it has a complete and top industrial chain of new energy vehicles. This cooperation with the Guangzhou municipal government will help the two sides to jointly build a new energy vehicle industry.

At the beginning of this year, Evergrande joined the Swedish NEVS, formed a joint venture with the world's top luxury car manufacturer Koenigsegg, acquired vehicle R & D and manufacturing capacity, acquired Kanai, acquired Japan's top power battery technology, and then successively joined e-Traction of the Netherlands and Protean of the United Kingdom, fully mastering advanced hub motor technology.

At present, Evergrande's layout in the new energy vehicle industry has involved from vehicle production, to battery supply, and then to dealers, almost covering the entire automobile industry chain, with a total investment of nearly 30 billion yuan.

Xu Jiayin has said that he wants to "strive to become the largest and most powerful new energy vehicle group in the world in 3-5 years", and now three major R & D and production bases have landed in Nansha, which means that this promise may be fulfilled quickly.
