Jia Yueting invested in FF's first production car and its flagship model, FF 91, which can be self-driving and seamlessly interconnected, and is the aggregator of the latest achievements in terms of power performance, personalization and user experience. Recently, FF officially announced that it had completed the long-distance test of FF91. Does it mean that it is not far from mass production?

On May 30th, Jia Yueting founded Faraday, an electric start-up, officially announced that FF91 had completed long-distance testing. The FF 91 is equipped with a three-motor power system with a maximum power of 1050 horsepower and a range of up to 700km.

Earlier on April 10, Jia Yueting posted a 13-second video on his Twitter showing the in-car voice interaction function of FF 91. Surprisingly, the English instructions were completed by Jia Yueting himself.

In the video, Jia Yueting taps the FF 91 screen and instructs "Take me to the Futurist Testing Lab (take me to the futurist test lab in Los Angeles)" by voice. The FF 91 interactive system immediately confirms the location and begins navigation. This is also the first time that FF 91 has demonstrated the function of smart car couplet since the release of CES.

According to official information, due to repeated financial constraints over the past few years, Faraday's mass production plan for its first production car, FF91, has been delayed again and again, and as of June 1, 2019, it still stays at the "PPT" stage. Despite repeated financial constraints, Faraday has not given up its FF91 testing work in the future.

In order to test FF91 in harsh conditions, he once participated in the Pike Peak International Mountain climbing Race, conducted a cold limit test in the snow of Minnesota, and conducted an accelerated test at the Transportation Research Center in East Lieberty, Ohio, USA. 5000 km of software optimization and related development tests were completed in Arizona. After a number of tests, Faraday finally announced in the future that the long-distance test of FF91 had been completed. It also means that a small part of the testing work of FF91 has been completed, which is one step closer to real production.

In recent years, dozens of PPT engineering prototype cars have been produced for various tests. In the PPT version, there is a model closest to the production car. In order to distinguish it, Jia Yueting classified it as a pre-production car. So far, Faraday Future has gone offline with at least five pre-production cars.

So far, Jia Yueting has apparently spent US $2.025 billion on the Faraday Future project, equivalent to 14 billion yuan, but it is not known whether he will spend it all.

Of course, with this capital investment, there is still progress in the mass production of FF91. Before that, Jia Yueting said on moments that FF91 was only "a foot in the door" before mass production.
