AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/16 Report--
It has become an irreplaceable fact that new energy vehicles will replace fuel vehicles in the future, and car companies have also begun to adapt to the market transformation and develop towards young sports. BYD started as a battery and did not build BYD cars until it grew into the world's second-largest maker of rechargeable batteries in 2003. As one of the earliest car companies in China to develop new energy, BYD's new energy sales have always been outstanding. Even in the global ranking of electric vehicles, it can occupy the top position and is the leader of new energy vehicles.
In May, BYD officials learned that as of May 31, BYD sold 189337 vehicles from January to May, up 1.29% from a year earlier. Of these, sales of new energy vehicles were 21899, up 53.8 per cent year-on-year. 119082 vehicles were sold from January to May, a sharp increase of 106 per cent over the same period last year. Although so far, the overall growth of Biya is not very large, but in the cold winter of the car market, this growth trend is also very considerable.
In contrast, BAIC New Energy, another former leading new energy car company, sold 9009 new cars in May, down 49.6% from January to May, down 19.83% from January to May. As the contender for the top and second place on the sales list, the two now form a strong contrast.
According to the specific breakdown data, BYD's sales of pure electric passenger vehicles were 15312, up 193.7% from a year earlier to 76915 from January to May, up 375.2% from a year earlier, making it the fastest growing market segment. Plug-in hybrid passenger cars sold 5633 vehicles in May, down 31 per cent from a year earlier. The cumulative sales from January to May were 37997, down 2 per cent from a year earlier. In other words, pure electric passenger cars have become the main driver of BYD's growth.
However, according to data released by BYD, Bia's traditional fuel vehicles are clearly not keeping pace, with overall car sales of 2544 in May, down 45 per cent compared with the same period last year, down 45 per cent from January to May to 16512, down 47.8 per cent from a year earlier. Sales of SUV models reached 3440 in May, with cumulative sales of 22988 from January to May, down 19.5 per cent from a year earlier. In addition, there has also been a decline in MPV models, with cumulative sales of 30755 vehicles from January to May, down 55.4 per cent from a year earlier. From this, it can be seen that traditional fuel vehicles have declined to a certain extent.
New energy models have become the main driving force of BYD's sales growth, and it is also the target market for many car brands to develop in the future, but for this nascent thing, it still faces many challenges, such as the breakthrough of new energy technology, as well as the charging and battery life of electric vehicles, as well as competition from foreign automobile companies in the future, such as Tesla.
For car companies, the most important core is the strength of the product itself. From the sales volume of new energy, there are few brands at home and abroad that can compete with BYD. However, as a leader of domestic new energy car companies, BYD still can not relax its vigilance and face challenges from all aspects. only by making a good product can it meet the greater challenges and gain a foothold in the car companies.
