AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/19 Report--

According to related reports, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in an email to employees in May that 1000 Model 3s would need to be produced every day for the rest of the second quarter to set a new record for new car deliveries in the new quarter.

However, according to relevant data, Tesla's production fell short of his target in the weeks after Musk sent the email. According to a daily production document for a production section of the Model 3 in Fremont, production of the model had to reach at least 1000 vehicles a day in the weeks after Mr Musk's email was sent on May 22. During this period, the average daily output of the actual production of the model is about 700 vehicles. The output of this link does not necessarily correspond to the final number of cars off the line, but at least it can reflect the upper limit of the whole production.

At Tesla's annual shareholders' meeting on June 11, Mr Musk said Tesla would have a chance to break the quarterly delivery record. According to the standards described by Musk in an email on May 22nd, Tesla will have to increase production of Model 3 in the final weeks of June.

Tesla's delivery data for the second quarter will face a severe test, as the delivery volume in the first quarter is much lower than that in the previous quarter. Some analysts pointed out that the first quarter data show that the demand of most consumers for Tesla cars is significantly less, and the reason for Tesla's analysis is due to the logistics reasons of international distribution and the insufficient supply of batteries.

In the second quarter, based on the current state, failure to create new highs is expected, but it will stimulate Tesla's strict requirements for production. Tesla estimates that the company will continue to lose money in the second quarter, but will make a profit in the third quarter.

In Tesla's 16-year history, the company has made profits for four quarters, including two consecutive quarters in the second half of 2018, when delivery reached an all-time high.

The construction of Tesla's factory in Shanghai was also completed today, but it was put into production. Mr Musk said he hoped to produce 3000 Model 3 cars a week at the super factory in Shanghai by the end of this year. At the Fremont plant, production will be stable at 7000 vehicles per week, and by the end of this year, California and Shanghai plants will produce a total of 10000 Model 3 vehicles per week. Tesla said earlier that it had updated the production layout of the Shanghai super factory and would optimize the manufacturing process.

By next year, Tesla's Model3 production will be greatly increased, achieving the highest level of profitability for two consecutive quarters in the second half of 2018, and is expected to be surpassed in the new year.
