AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/19 Report--
NVIDIA announced a cooperation agreement with Sweden's Volvo to jointly develop self-driving cars available in all markets.
Volvo is working with US chipmaker NVIDIA to develop artificial intelligence for self-driving trucks, Volvo's headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, said on June 18th. NVIDIA DRIVE end-to-end self-driving platform is used to train, test and deploy self-driving AI vehicles. The target areas are public transportation, freight transport, garbage collection, construction, mining, forestry and so on.
Martin Lundstedt, Volvo Group and CEO, said: "our customers are asking us to do this. Cooperation is the new leadership, and today the Volvo Group has formally established a long-term and stable cooperative relationship with NVIDIA. "
Huang Renxun, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, said: "everything that moves will be automated or partially automated, so technology is the foundation. I believe that with the efforts of both sides, we will change the future. "
The agreement between Volvo and NVIDIA is a long-term partnership that will last for several years. The two companies will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden and Santa Clara, California. With the help of the DRIVE AGX Pegasus vehicle AI computing platform, the two sides will use a full set of DRIVE AV software stacks for 360-degree sensor processing, sensing, map localization and path planning. In addition, the two sides will also use NVIDIA DRIVE hardware-in-the-loop simulation platform to carry out and verify these.
With this partnership, NVIDIA and Volvo are able to provide critical autopilot solutions worldwide. At the same time, both sides are fully prepared for long-term cooperation.
