In addition to increasing the distribution of SUV products, new energy is also a more positive direction for Volkswagen brands in China. Today, there are only two new energy models on sale under SAIC-Volkswagen, namely Tuguan L PHEV and Passat PHEV.

According to SAIC-Volkswagen, this year, the first SAIC-Volkswagen pure electric model, the Lang Yi pure electric version, will be unveiled to the public. The arrival of this model indicates that Lang Yi, which has been at the top of the A-class sedan segment for a long time, will also launch an electric version; and predictably, Lang Yi's dominant position and a large user base in China will provide strong word-of-mouth support for the Lang Yi electric version.

Of course, in the field of new energy, SAIC-Volkswagen's first pure electric vehicle plant, which is also Volkswagen's first car factory built specifically for the production of MEB pure electric models, has started construction in October 2018 and is expected to be completed and put into production in 2020. The completion and commissioning of the plant indicates that more new energy products owned by SAIC-Volkswagen will accelerate the landing.

As the leading enterprise of new energy vehicles in China, in its special sales and production environment, its production and marketing will inevitably decline.
