According to the pictures exposed on the net, the FAW-Volkswagen plant held an offline ceremony for Jetta, which produced a total of 4418287 vehicles in its life cycle from December 1991 to June 2019.
The name Jetta once appeared in the "old three", and it was one of the models for people and enterprises and institutions to buy cars at that time. Today, Jetta is still a special car for most driving schools and insurance companies. The sales figure of 4.4 million vehicles shows the brilliance of Jetta models in the Chinese market, which is destined to be an indispensable part of China's automobile history.
Jetta is a hatchback car built by Volkswagen based on previous golf platforms since 1979. In 1991, the second generation Jetta (code name MK2) was introduced into China by FAW-Volkswagen, which began the history of Jetta. After the introduction of the fourth generation Jetta in 2001, it has been renamed Bora, and has been updated continuously so far to maintain its Chinese special status. After the introduction of the fifth-generation Jetta in 2006, the name was renamed Suiteng. So far, the offshore version of Jetta is also docked in domestic Suiteng, including the latest seventh-generation Jetta, that is, a brand-new generation of Suiteng currently on sale in China.
FAW-Volkswagen Jetta is also a special car in China, which was upgraded from A2 chassis model in 1980s to PQ25 platform model in 2013, and has been sold so far.
In fact, the suspension of Jetta models is not the end in the real sense. FAW-Volkswagen upgraded "Jetta" from a car department to a sub-brand, becoming a cheap car brand under FAW-Volkswagen, producing and selling Jetta-branded cars, SUV and so on, which are only available for the Chinese market.
On the independence of the Jetta brand, Volkswagen said: not every product that is highly recognized in mature markets can develop into an independent sub-brand. We can't create a new brand and name for consumers to accept. Therefore, we will choose the existing products that have a very deep foundation in consumer emotion to make a sub-brand.
The first three new cars of the Jetta brand were officially unveiled in March this year, namely the VA3, two SUV VS5 and VS7 models, of which the compact SUV VS5 will be launched in September.
