The fact is that, as dealers say, how much power will the country's six cars drop or is it a gimmick for dealer sales?

The main difference between the national five and six models lies in the different emission standards. The national six is mainly aimed at automobile manufacturers, mainly in the aspects of production consistency, new production vehicles, vehicle compliance, etc., to ensure that they manufacture vehicles that meet the national emission standards. In order to manufacture a car that meets the national six standards, the cost will increase accordingly, such as adding PDF and particle catcher on the engine, which basically needs consumers to pay for it.

The country's five-liter country has stricter limits on various pollutants in automobile exhaust and new limits on particulate matter concentration. If the engine wants to meet the national six standards, it is nothing more than starting from two aspects: one is to make a fuss inside the engine to make gasoline burn more fully and produce less pollutants; the other is to make a fuss outside the engine to purify the exhaust gas discharged after combustion.

According to research and analysis by some organizations, gasoline vehicles are five liters in the country, and the money of automobile manufacturers is mainly spent on three aspects: 1. upgrading three-way catalysts;2. adding gasoline particulate traps (GPF);3. upgrading gasoline vapor emission control systems.

According to the judgment of Shenzhen Human Settlements Environment Committee, the cost of upgrading the gasoline vehicle from National V to National VI B is 938 yuan.

According to the calculation of CITIC Securities Research Department, the emission of National VI will lead to an increase of at least 1300 yuan in the cost of gasoline vehicles per vehicle, mainly composed of: 600 yuan for particulate matter trap, 300 yuan for upgrading three-way catalyst and 400 yuan for improving on-board fuel evaporation system.

For a car, the cost plus a thousand or eight hundred is not a big deal, it is easy to digest in the retail link discount margin. The question is, will the performance drop when the emission standard is high?

Among the "upgraded national six-three routines", the most likely to affect performance is the particulate trap, which is actually a "filter element" installed in the exhaust system to filter out particulate matter in the exhaust gas. This is like adding a "mask" to the exhaust system, which is bound to increase exhaust resistance, resulting in reduced engine performance and increased fuel consumption. Even more troublesome is that particulate matter can accumulate in the trap, resulting in a further increase in exhaust resistance.

Of course, adding a "mask" to the exhaust end does not necessarily lead to a decline in engine performance, which depends on how the manufacturer adjusts and matches it.

Song Jian, a professor at the Department of Automotive Engineering at Tsinghua University, said that whether the dynamic parameters are the same depends on the configuration of the powertrain by the manufacturer, so it is difficult to say in general whether the dynamic parameters of the vehicles will remain consistent from the sixth to the sixth. In general, higher emission standards sacrifice vehicle dynamics and fuel economy. From country one to country three, power and fuel are simultaneously improved. Whether the performance of the car deteriorates will be reflected in indicators such as maximum speed, acceleration, climbing, and engine dynamics. Generally speaking, the higher the emission standard, the stronger the dynamic response lag.

According to the relevant data, most of the models upgraded to six countries have no difference in engine power, torque and nominal fuel consumption level compared with those before upgrading, but there are indeed some models whose power level drops slightly.

For example, Skoda Mingrui, 1.5 naturally aspirated engine version 6 power, torque have a slight drop, official 100 km acceleration time also has a slight drop;1.2T model 100 km acceleration time slightly reduced;1.4T model maximum speed from 210 km to 200 km.

Through understanding, we can roughly draw the following conclusions: under certain circumstances, the country five or six will have an impact on the dynamic performance, but only a part of it, in general, whether the dynamic parameters are consistent depends on the manufacturer's deployment. In terms of power, torque, fuel consumption, etc., the difference is not particularly large, only a small number of models have changed.
