METI, ENER, and DOE have a strong interest in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies that can bring significant benefits to the energy sector, economy, and environment. Hydrogen and fuel cells are part of a broad and sustainable energy mix that can be key to opening up opportunities and value in all sectors, from transportation to industry, and to reliable, clean and affordable electricity.

For our country, hydrogen energy vehicles are still in their infancy. According to the data, the output of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in China in 2018 was only 1619, mainly passenger cars and special vehicles, and almost no passenger cars. According to the data of the China Automobile Association, from January to April 2019, the production and sales of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles were 237 and 230 respectively, with year-on-year growth of 154.8% and 289.8% respectively.
