Akira Marumoto, president of Mazda, said in an interview with a media a few days ago that although the world has begun to enter the electric car market, the main goal of the car factory is still to focus on fuel engines, hoping to make continuous progress because of the introduction of Skyactiv-X-related technology. However, with regard to increasingly stringent emission standards, Akira Marumoto also admitted that it is necessary to launch pure electric vehicles to cope with the challenge. Preliminary results have been made in an alliance with Toyota to build pure electric vehicles in 2016. Mazda's first pure electric car is expected to be seen in 2020, but it is still unknown when it will be launched in China.
