BMW Group launched eight new cars on the spot, including six new mass production cars and two concept cars, including the new 1-Series hatchback version, the new X1, the new 3-Series station wagon and three models of the BMW 8-Series family-the 8-Series four-door coupe, the M8 coupe and the M8 convertible. In addition, two concept cars, the Vision M NEXT and the Vision iNEXT, were unveiled.

Mr. Kruger, chairman of BMW Group, said that they will speed up the decision-making of electric products and bring them to market. By 2023, we will provide 25 new energy vehicles to the market, more than half of which will be pure electric vehicles. The weight of the M Next concept car is between 1600 and 1650 kilograms, which is acceptable for a car that feels great to drive. Even if there is a good (pure electric) alternative, its weight will reach at least 2.1 tons, which is unacceptable. Until then, we usually have aspirated, turbocharged and 'power' PHEV apps to achieve our goals.

Florig also said that the M-series pure battery car is under development and is expected to go into production around 2025. "the definition of M-series cars has nothing to do with technology, but only about performance."

The M Next concept car will represent the design direction of the future BMW M-Series. The new car uses gas-electric hybrid and can choose different driving modes. The power of the whole gas-electric hybrid system is 600hp, the acceleration time from 0 to 100km/h is less than 3 seconds, and the maximum speed is about 300km/h per hour.

BMW is committed to playing an important role in the world's largest auto market. BMW sold more than 23000 new energy models in China last year, with X1 plug-in hybrids and 5-Series plug-in hybrids among the top 10 best-selling plug-in hybrid models. In March this year, the BMW X1 plug-in hybrid mileage upgrade was officially launched, using new power battery technology to increase pure electric mileage to 110km and reduce fuel consumption to 1.3L per 100km.

As can be seen from the grand plans for the future summit of BMW Group NEXTGen, BMW is launching a powerful electric offensive, which seems to herald that BMW will gradually say goodbye to the era of internal combustion engines.
