AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/27 Report--
In November 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a list of four batches of "normative conditions" enterprises, with a total of 57 companies on the list, but the industry's recognized Japanese and South Korean battery giants such as Samsung, LG and Panasonic never entered the list. Not listed in the catalogue means that new energy vehicles that use these corporate battery products cannot enjoy high subsidies from national and local governments.
After the release of the list, the Ningde era became the biggest beneficiary of the policy. The batteries of cars such as SAIC, Guangzhou Automobile, BMW, Dongfeng, Volkswagen, BAIC, Geely, Changan and Honda all came from Ningde era, which served more than 62 car brands until 2018. Ningde era has also become the selling point of cars. Because of this, the revenue of the Ningde era in 2018 reached 29.61 billion yuan, and the annual net profit exceeded 3.5 billion yuan. The annual installed capacity reached 23.5Gwh, and its market share in the domestic power battery reached an astonishing 41.3%.
After the decline of electric car subsidies, the whitelist of power batteries has been released again, and a new reform is about to begin. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has decided to abolish the Automotive Power Battery Industry Standard conditions from June 21, 2019, as well as the catalogue of the first, second, third and fourth batch of enterprises that meet the specification conditions.
After the cancellation of the list, Ningde era gradually lost a dominant position, in the absence of policy, international battery giants such as LG, Panasonic and Samsung accelerated the pace of entering China, and the high-end capacity construction of the domestic power battery industry ushered in a new peak. These battery giants have brought leading technology and management ideas to China, thus stimulating leading companies, including the Ningde era, to make greater efforts in innovation and reverse their growth. In the short term, the domestic electric vehicle enterprises will encounter all kinds of difficulties, but in the long run, it will still promote the domestic power battery enterprises.
The frequent spontaneous combustion accidents of electric vehicles have affected the enthusiasm of electric vehicles in China to a certain extent. The use of electric vehicles are basically related to the battery, whether it is battery life or charging, there are higher requirements for battery life and technical safety of electric vehicles.
Only by creating a safe and healthy electric vehicle market, can we attract more capital and talents, and finally create a good market environment for power batteries.
Whether it is a complete vehicle enterprise or a separate power battery enterprise, it is impossible to create a global giant by relying solely on government subsidies and protection. the government can add fire to the enterprise, but with the increase of competition, it is necessary for enterprises to make greater breakthroughs in core technology. With government subsidies and protection, there is no way to cultivate complete vehicle enterprises with core competitiveness. at present, independent brand car companies active on the global stage, Geely and Great Wall, are all private grass-roots enterprises. The same is true for power battery companies.
We also hope that after the deregulation of power batteries, one or two influential power battery companies can be born outside the Ningde era, and through their own efforts, we have developed our own day for the development of power batteries in China.
